The teller punched some keys and turned to tell me that I was $125.00 overdrawn. I couldnt believe it, almost like go figure. Nothing!! I mean nothing ever cut and dry in a bank!! She says yea, you debited or wrote a check the other day for $851.10. I said no I did not. She said talk to the personal banker then, so I did. The personal banker pulls up the account and says the bank debited my account on Friday to pay for a loan under a different account. What!! I was furious at this point.
She said is the a so an so on your account I said yes. She said well they took all the money in your account to pay for her loan. I said what loan. She had a loan in the past with her ex husband for a truck that was reposessed and the loan was through Huntington. I couldnt believe that the bank went into my account and took my money to pay for someone elses vehicle. At that point the personal banker reimbursed me all the fees without even asking. She said that was all she could do and that I needed to call corporate, so I did.
This where the fun begins. I called coporate and was transg\fered 6 times before I spoke with someone that could finally tell me what really was going on. It was the same thing the lady at the bank told me only they were allowed to do this. Because the other person on my account was A joint account holder they said we can do this. The guy on the phone said you will just have to go after the other person for the money. I said let me ask you a question would you sue your wife or girlfriend? He said no and I said that beyond the point.
I told him once again that Huntington bank went into my account and took money that belongs to me and not them. Sorry cant help you further. Well transfer me up once agian to a manager. Now I have been on the phone now for almost an hour and very tired of telling the same damn story over and over to a new person. Now this person is a manger that I am sending this to something surely has to get done. She gets on the phone and we go round and round about the same thing. I say this is my check that went into the account not hers why are you taking my money. I want my money returned to me and if you feel the need go after her. It's a seperate account and everything. She doesnt budge cant do that and I'm sorry.
Let me talk to your supervisor them move me on up. She puts me on hold once again on now I have been on the phone for an hour and a half. She gets back on the phone and she says that she will transfer me to her supervisor who is so and so hold on. So and so she gets on the phone and click. Some how we become disconnected, imagine that. Remember all I have is first names, which when I called back doesnt mean squat.
So bless there little hearts the customer service people are so gratefull to help you out. I am beyond that by now I want the same people I talked to and she said that cant happen because she doesnt know them. Well I finally, now two hours later, get a hold of another manager. Who also doesnt know the managers I was talking to. Any how he proceeds to help me. By now I was transfered about 12 times. About 2 hours and 30 minutes the manager say that untill they talk to so and so ( my girlfriend) they would not return any of my money. So I thought this was somewhat reasonable and I was tired 2 hours and 45 minutes later.
So my girlfriend shows up after work and calls the guy back, no answer. Calls himn back the next morning, no answer. Both times leaving a message. Hours later still no return call. She calls a third time and finally gets a hold of him. Well he says unlees you give us a signed contract saying that you will give us $250.00 a month we will not give me my money back. Can you say blackmail. Kind of sounds like it. Well she lets him know that she cannot afford that and trys to work out a different payment. No can do. He will not accept it and therefore if she does not come up with it I get know money.
Well I still have no money from them and a negative account. I wanted to let anyone know do not bank with Huntington bank and don't let this happen to you.

Your problem is not with the bank...

The only thing you can do is go after her Ex in Civil court for the amount of money that you are out. This would include the actual amount as well as any fees incurred(although it appears you said they refunded the fees).
Now, as a piece of advise if the car loan is still delinquent DO NOT put any more money into ANY account at Huntington because until the delinquent account is positive(or you remove your Girlfriend from your account) they will continue to remove the money.
Good Luck..
If your account were not a joint account, there would have been no way for the bank to do what they did. This isn't the bank's fault or problem. This was your wife's issue - which became yours as well.
