Interested in the pots & pans, I decided to proceed further where I was told that for $2500 i could get some pans, knifes, china and some glasses. I was told I would get the merchandise 2-3 weeks after ordering it and would be billed 40-45 days after that. I was also told that the interest rate was "negligible" and that i was "like 1% or 2%".
After reading the fine print on the contract I saw that it said the APR was 21%, I pointed this out and the sales person said wasn't right and repeated that the actual rate was "negligible". Thinking that the interest rate truely was "negligible" I decided to sign up for the pans (since I was told I couldn't get the deal later).
Later that night I read up on the company and read about all of the complaints about how the company does business and decided to cancel my order. When the "verifiers" called to verify my order I indicated that I would like to cancel my order and they told me that they would have the sales person who sold me the merchandise contact me.
Days later the sales person called and I told him I would like to cancel the order and I let him talk me into just keeping the pans and I asked what the interest rate was, he replied "something like 1-2%". Again the verifier called this time I asked was the interested rate was, they repeated what the original sales person said and said it was "1-2%", where I repeated back the number and asked if they was essentially "less than $100 per year", he replied back "yeah something close to that". He then repeated the order, but this time they said I had some pans, glasses and some other junk I didn't want. I told the verifier that the order and price was wrong and again he had the salesperson call me back.
Again, I talked to the salesperson and I told him he had it wrong and to change the order. Again and again he claimed to. Verifier called, the order and price was wrong. Weeks later I still never got a call from the salesperson so I decided to call Southern Bridal Registry to fix the order, they claim they did, the verifier called and the order was processed.
I got the pans 8-9 weeks after ordering (not 2-3) and I was billed 2 days after I got my order (not 40-45). I also noticed that the bill showed that the interest rate was 21%, not something that was "negligible". I called Hy City they said to call Southern Bridal. I called Southern Bridal and they said that the sales person was clear in defining the terms of the contact (she wasn't there), that it was clearly written on the white board (which it wasn't) and that it was clearly explained to me (it was explained as being "negligible", which 21% is not). She then went into the threatening legal stuff and said that all she could do for me was 90 days same as cash or I could transfer it to another credit card (which isn't SB helping me, that's me just transfering something to my credit card). She then forcefully ended the phone call.
