I ordered the supposedly "incredible" Milinex Laser Storm vacuum on Sunday, October 16th, 2005 because my husband and I needed a bagless hypoallergenic upright vacuum and a steamer. I followed all of the prompts, and it said please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery at the very end of the call!! I IMMEDIATELY emailed customer service and stated for them to cancel my order!! I JUST couldn't wait 6 weeks to get a vaccum.

The tv special said buy one for $120 and get one vacuum free plus pay s&h on the steamer and get it for free. The prompts kept asking me to take advantage of additional orders but I didn't. I pressed option #2. I was routinely balancing my checking account on October 18th and realized they had ALREADY drafted $353.70 out of my account which is THREE TIMES what the original price was supposed to be!!

I called each day October 17th-20th and could not get any help. I was ALSO told that my name was not in the system and they couldn't cancel the order. I immediately protested saying, "IT HAS TO BE IN THE SYSTEM SOMEWHERE BECAUSE YOU PEOPLE HAVE ALREADY TAKEN THE MONEY OUT OF MY ACCOUNT!!" Finally after waiting another 45 minutes, I talked to a manager named Monica who assured me she would call back on the 20th.

She didn't, so I called the corporate phone# 212-575-0500 on the 20th and requested to speak to a vice president, president/ceo. Then I was told Monica would call me back and that the order had been cancelled and I would get a refund within one week! I guess I FINALLY "nailed" the correct direct line.

I waited until 3pm est to call back. This time I DEMANDED TO SPEAK WITH MONICA and made her assure me the funds would be back in my account no later than Friday (before the close of business) October 28th, 2005. She said she was 99% sure. I also advised her that I had already read several plausible comments validating that this vacuum offer is a scam and I wouldn't be waiting for over a YEAR to receive my refund! All she could say is "No, maam...it won't take that long!"

I GOT MY REFUND 11/1/2005

AUTHOR: Berea - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 01, 2005

Today, the credit FINALLY posted to my account. For the future, I advise that any of you who truly want your refund back ... please call 212-575-0500 and demand to speak to Monica or Lisa Evans immediately.

By the way, these names are made up! You will have to harass them every single day, and it would be a great idea to get your bank rep on the phone with them on a conference call. I even got an email address from one of the managers b/c I demanded to get a statement showing what I had ordered. Lisa Evans emailed me from this address: Leigh Mainieri - LMAINIERI@ITIA.COM. I would call Milinex/Igia Laser Vacuum and then dial your banking rep (if you have one). Give you rep your acct# before you click back over to Milinex rep. My refund went through last night! I'm just so happy that we got it back. Always remember ... fight for your money!

Recent Update

AUTHOR: Berea - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, October 31, 2005

I have done much research over the past two weeks (which I should have already done before I tried to make the purchase) and have found out that there are over 100 customers who have not yet gotten their refund! I thought that Igia/Singer was a reputable company, but people are still battling to get their money back!!

I have paid for two vacuums and a steamer that aren't even on the way. I don't even want the products. All I want is my well-deserved refund. I have spent over of my cellular minutes and lunch/break at work for two weeks - trying to resolve this issue and have had to put a hot card notice on my account on Friday, October 21st so that the company can't take anymore money. I was told by Monica today, October 27th, that I could call back at 4pm est and speak to Janet Evans who is supposedly the director. I have already mailed a certified letter to the company stating my case. If they don't respond within 10 days I can then file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

I called Lisa Evans on Friday, October 28th and had a rep from my bank on the phone. Lisa assured us that the credit had processed on October 27th and that it should be in my account no later than Monday, October 31st. She said, First of all, ma'am, you are giving me lip, I bet you are one of those people who calls their bank everyday! She also tried to bargain with me when I asked her, Please email or fax me a copy of my order, the cancellation and the date and time the credit was processed.

She said, I can do that and in return you WILL BE calling me Monday with an apology because your money will be there! Mrs. Wash, I have other customers to attend to. Then I said, I need this information within 30 minutes you can have the courtesy of giving me this info. She emailed me the information within 30 minutes and to my surprise I had been charged for FOUR VACUUMS and one steamer PLUS shipping and handling for all of the vacuums.

It's now October 31st, at 11:30am I called my bank and they said there was a $0 credit posted. Something had indeed been posted but there was not a dollar specific amount. Lisa tried to have us fax her a statement showing the funds were not there.

My bank rep advised that we wait until in the morning to see if the $353.70 credit has been posted. Mrs. Evans said, She wanted to make sure that I got a positive credit and not a negative one. It sounds like they were trying to charge me even more money! So I am waiting until November 1, 2005 to see if my credit has been posted.

UPDATE 10/27/2005

AUTHOR: Berea - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, October 27, 2005

I have since spoken with Monica again and a lady named Mary. Both of which assured me that my refund had already been processed and it should post to my account no later than October 28, 2005. As of today, my rep at my bank says there are no traces of a credit being posted to my account. I called the BBB of Tennessee and they told me I had to write a letter of complaint and send it "certified mail". The Milinex Storm/Igia Company has 10days to respond to my letter and then I can file a complaint. We will wait and see. They still won't give me a name of a CEO or president. Again, they took $353.70 out of my account which I have already closed so that they can't take anymore. My husband and I recently married and now we are out of $353.70 ... TERRIBLE!!
