Goods were ordered on May 27 due to arrive in Saskatoon on June 14/2012. When we tried to track the shipment's whereabouts we were told by IKEA that they only had a bill of lading number but no name for the shipping company taking it from Quebec to Saskatchewan. We were given the name of the local Saskatoon company that would deliver the good to the home once the container arrived in Saskatoon. When we call Dynamax Saskatoon we were told that they never know when another IKEA container arrives, they just show up and lots of customer do not get their goods on the promised delivery date. When we called IKEA customer service again to get a firm date as we were traveling in between two addressed and needed to know when to be available to receive the goods, we were very poorly treated. When I demanded to speak to the person's supervior I was told that she could put me through to the supervisor, but I better be prepared to get exactly the same answer from her. Indeed that happened but that person was even more rude.
Finally the local shipping company called to say the goods were in town and would be delivered on June 21 before 3PM. When we called at 3PM we were told, no not today, delivery is rescheduled for tomorrow morning. When we called again at about 2PM on Friday June 22 we were told, the truck will be there in about one hour. The driver was by himself, absolutely unable to deliver two Queen size mattresses, beds and a chest to the third floor level. This was not a one person job. My son was home and able to help him get the goods into the condo. I could have not helped him. When we asked what would have happened, the driver said, I probably had two wait a couple of hours for the company to send somebody or we would have rescheduled the delivery for next week. No sooner was the delivery completed we received an automatec telephone call from IKEA asking how satisfied we were with the delivery, if the drive wore a badge and other such baloney. We complaine by pushed the appropriate buttons and were again (this is the third time we were told by IKEA, before in email exchanges) that customer service management would contact us by phone), that never happened.
IKEA might have good products, but they certainly don't care about customer service. Lucky we did not buy all the goods we intended to in our order. A kitchen and several other items will be ordered elsewhere. If one picks up the good in one of their stores that might be okay, having it shipped, forget it. Never again.
