IMVU has the tendency to harass my sister with her account. She has been permanently disabled because she messed up on her age. When called about it, a customer service rep said she has to file a help ticket and call her back the next day (today) and they will try to work it out. They claimed that she "abused company policy about age representation." Today, on March 19, 2013, another rep claimed they can't give her the account back. Her age stated she was 18 and because IMVU won't let its users change it for the final view of their accounts, she put it as "not announced". She went to buy her name, which is a feature anybody can do, and a very rude rep asked her age. My mother said 16 and he disabled it immediately by going against their own policy TWICE! Once by hacking her account, a policy in which they enforce strictly, and twice by not sending her the 3 necessary warnings before disabling her account. This is not the first time they disabled her without a warning. The first time being when she got in a fight with another user, which she understood completely. That was only for 7 days. The second time is when they accused her of hacking another account. That was for 3000 days but it was quickly resolved. She has been crying uncontrollably for the last 24 hours and every time we try to contact them, they say the same thing.
My sister is home schooled and doesn't make friends very easily due to bullying, which is why she created the account in the first place. She spent probably hundreds of dollars on that account. She feels very harassed and she would like a written apology from both rude service reps and the CEO. She would also like compensation for the emotional distress they are causing her as well as monitary compensation as she had the account for 2 years. And please keep in mind they caused her this distress over a simple mistake, over her age! They are also making her create another account when they can just easily give her old one back.
