IT'S ALL LIES!!!!!!
Truth is....You go through 2 days of orientation taking notes and learning about the wholesale fragrance business! The 1st day they ask you to go out and call everyone you know and sell them cologne or perfume for $28.00 a bottle!!! More if they pay with a credit card or have to get it shipped somewhere!! They offer bonuses if you sell 20, 25, 30, 35, and so on. The bonuses they offer is some decent money if you sell a lot!! To someone who has been unemployed and really looking for a job this is a great thing! But what happens if you dont really know anyone who wants the stuff??? Well then you get nothing!! So you are basically going through this "Training" for free!!! By day 3 they send you out with someone else who is in fact still going through "Training", but just has been there a few weeks! Now what does being sent out detail??? Well you get 2 cases of cologne and perfume and are sent out to an area to sell out of the trunk of a car!! But even though they have a script that you are supposed to follow....in the script it tells you to sell the bottles for $25.00!!! So then if they sell them for $25 then why did I try to sell them to my friends and family for $28???? So then you go out into the street and go to parking lots where there are a lot of people....Most of which are in more run down parts of town or where there is a lower class of people because the higher class of people wont buy the product!! They will buy the real thing!! So you approach 50 people and maybe you get a sale!! But the person training you is telling you that you should sell the bottles to the people for $20.00 because its the only way to get them to buy it!!! So again the price keeps dropping!!! You are out there for 6 hours your first day and they say most of the time you dont get a sale on your first day out! Well i happened to get a sale!! And what did I get for my 1 day out selling for 6 hours???? $3!!!! Thats right!! Started the day at 9am and got home at 5 and made $3!!!
Now I know what you are saying...as you learn to sell you will sell more than 1 bottle!!! This is probably true!! But at $3 dollars a day who can really take the time to keep trying??? My girlfriend did all kinds of research on the internet to see about different scams and schemes involving the sale of wholesale fragrances!!! She showed them to me and when I went in the next day and told the "Managers" about the info they had arguments to go against what was said to keep my interest in the "Get Excited Opportunity" that was being presented!! Then they send you out on what is called "Freaky Friday"!!! This is supposed to be the best day of the week!!! They send you out on with what is called a "Power Team"!!! Its 2 people in training and a "Manager"!! So I go out with this "Power Team"!! I dont do that bad! Sold a few bottles!! The 2 people I was with had a better day than me!! But by the end of the day...and I mean starting at 9am and getting back to the shop at 9pm!! Thats right 12 hours!!! I recieved a mere $24.00 for my time!! And I had to pay the "Manager" I was with all day $5.00 for gas!!! So I showed up at home with $19 for a 12 hour day!!! Now I dont know about you but I want a bit more money than that for a 12 hour day walking around in 108 degree weather(which included a rain storm for about 1 hour)!! Yes they even had me selling in the rain!!! When we got close to the bonus total for a "Power Team", the 2 people I was with got ideas of how to sell that night and the next morning to make the quota!!! Talking about how they were going to buy bottles and make their families and friends but bottles to get there!! At that point I had lost all my Excitement for the company!!! They also talked about sending me out on trips out of state to sell the fragrances!! They set up 2 different trips...Mon-Thurs and Wed-Sat trips where I dont know who pays for the hotel or any of that but I wasnt about to go out on a 4 day trip to make $50!!!
Now I know what your saying....I am disgruntled cause I wasnt a good salesperson!! Actually I really liked the "Managers" I was talking to!! The one I was out with on that Friday had been with the company for like 8 months and been a "Manager" for a few of those months and was still waiting for her "Office"!!! It seems that even though they supposedly had all the money and things ready to get you that office, she had been waiting for months to get it!! And what does she do for those months waiting for that office???? Thats right....Out selling fragrances out of the trunk of her car!!!
So if you get the call to come in for an interview or even get called back for a 2nd interview from I.N. Twin Cities...Tell Puppy Power I say hello and then RUN FOR THE DOOR!!!!! I have read of many people who stuck it out longer than I did and not only ruined their relationships, but ruined their livelyhood!! If you do decide to stick it out and try to get that office, Maybe once I start getting paid from my REAL JOB I will come find you on Lake St in Minneappolis and but a bottle of Wholesale Cologne from you!!! But I wont pay more than $20.00!!!!!
