As others have done I disputed the charges with QWEST, and they agreed to remove them, however, for me to contact the billing company and address the dispute, USBI would never answer my phone calls, so I did some research and sent them an email, which was answered a week later advising me that they would remove the charges, which the did.
Integretel insisted that I knowingly made the call via the dialer, I explained to them that it was an illegal take over of my modem with a dialer software that was installed on my PC.....the girl on the other end insisted that ther was no such software that she was aware of and asked me to pay half of the amount, I refused and then she acted as if she was doing me a favor, and stated "I will remove the charges this time only, as a onetime customer satisfaction move."
I told her that I was not liable for the charges and that I did not make the call, during this time I was using DSL services, and there was no need for me to used dial up, however, I found out later that as long as the PC is attached to a phone line this software can make the call any you will never be aware of it.
To make a long story short, since all of the credit were on my QWEST phone bill, I assumed all was take care of....well that was not the case. Four months later I get a phone call from a Mr. Sargent that identified himself as working for a Law Firm in Ontario, Canada. I did not return the call, assuming it was some scam...
A week later another call on my voice mail only this time he states that it is imperative that I call ref an investigation on my phone line, and that not to do so would initiate legal action... this alarmed me so I called (expensive international call rate) he advised that an lawsuit had been filed by his client (integretel) to recover the charges that had already been cleared, I told him that I would not pay because I did not make the calls.
His response "whatever", if I did not pay the 1100.00 I he would see me in court, it is now 1100.00. Later he called and advised if I settled out of court it would be only 274.62.....he further added that my phone line was investigated and that they had dated and times of my online activities, which show that I have been on adult web sites and would be used before the judge.
He had no knoledge of software that downloads with active-x and dial out.....of course he did not want to hear it....he is unwilling to provide me with a mailing address of his company.....at his point I am not sure if I should give in and be scammed or take my chances in court. I did not make the calls, but I do not know what so called evidence he has the my may damage my reputation and credit history (he threatened to turn me over to a collection agency).
If anyone has had a similar experience please email or post to compare notes that will help with a decision and possibly help me resolve this with out giving in letting them scam me.

Also, I looked at my Internet history and see how I got the trojan dialer virus that dialed the Integretel number against my wishes. I had done a Google of a medication my doctor was going to prescribe me. I had clicked on one of the sites that described the medication. The same thing happend to a radio announce who is an expert on viruses. He documented it on his web site.
That is when my computer got overtaken by the virus throwing up all sorts of pornographic ads I did not want. That is also when the trojan dialer had made the call silently and without my permission. I used NEOTRACE, a free program that can be found if you search Google, and it did a trace and showed that the site was in RUSSIA.
I gave all the information to the authorities. If you look at the time of the phone call you can then go to your internet history and possibly pinpoint what site you got the virus from. I use a free program called IEHistoryView available at http://www.nirsoft.net. I then went back to that site and DUPLICATED getting the virus.
These viruses can come from overseas and present a tremendous threat to our infrastructure. That one guy who warned about Osama bin Laden has said that the next big threat is to our computer infrastructure. Spyware will be making more and more headlines in the future, mark my words. If we do not start paying attention to all these complaints people are making there will be tremendous problems in the future for all of us.
Please keep in mind that I am not saying that Integretel is responsible for any of this.

I got this off of my caller I.D. after he called me. Don't worry about them sending you paperwork - they won't. And if they do, just send them a letter (certified) that says you dispute the charges, it is illegal phone cramming because of an auto-dialer. THIS ADVICE COMES DIRECTLY FROM THE FTC.
I highly recommend you all file complaints with the Better Business Bureau, The Federal Trade Commission, and your Attorney Generals Office.
Integretel has already been sued and settled out of court on more than one occasion. The only thing we can do is not fall for their scam - DO NOT SEND THEM ANY MONEY! Call them out on their B.S. - and let them know YOU KNOW WHAT THEY ARE UP TO. That will stop them dead in their tracks.

I received a call from "Mr. Sargent" saying he represents a lawyer who has taken a lawsuit being filed against me in regard to some "900 calls placed from my home". I told him thats really funny, because I am planning a class action lawsuit against that company for illegal phone cramming, so please send me the paperwork in regard to such lawsuit. I have never heard anything from him again. However, I have caller ID and called back the number Mr. Sargent was calling from - the voice mail calls this place the LAW OFFICE and their mailing address is in Onterio Canada!??!
I am VERY interested in filing a joint lawsuit against INTEGRETEL/USBI for harassment & phone cramming. Anyone else up for the fight?!
This happened to me over 4 months ago now, but I am not willing to let this go so easily now that I see what kind of level these theives are operating at. They use minipulation "is there anyone else in your home who has access to your computer?" and tries to blame your husband or children.... its just awful for people who might actually believe someone in their home is placing these calls when they are not. Not to mention these threats of lawsuits. I called them AGAIN when I didnt receive anything in the mail. When I told Mr Sargent that I knew exactly how these charges were incurred because of auto-dialer/spyware and would not pay them a dime, he said "this is the first I have heard of anything like that, and will have to get back to you, I am going to contact my client". Again - no reponse. Its a SCAM.
PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT A JOINT CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT.

One method would be to just not pay $ to these guys. They threaten with collection agencies and may even follow thru. You will then have to deal with the credit reporters and remove any bad references you may have accumulated thru this scam. It's a long road but anyone who actually pays these scammers even half is perpetuating the problem.
Even if slapped with more millions in fines, it still pays more than it loses.
