IPA - IBA DO NOT WORK FOR THEM, RIPOFF, SCAM ALERT Chicago Illinois
As a former employee of IPA IBA I can honestly report that they are indeed in the business of ripping honest companies off for as much money as possible. Their cattle call recruiting style ropes in with promises of at least 70K up to 300K for their "top reps". Not only is that all lies they are extremely unprofessional and employ bullying tactics not only on unsuspecting clients but employees as well!
The one week training seminar consists of what can only be called bragging by various IPA employees. In fact the only person I saw who seemed to have any money what so ever was the owner who slid around their office like a troll. The entire building resembled a third world factory and we were told that we would never see their telemarketing centre because it is "10 X worse".
Most of the training is done is a run down hotel about an hour outside of Chicago in a suburb that I learned has a reputation for harboring organized crime (Al Capone had a house there for God's sake). It really is an endless series of bragging sessions that any idiot could see right through though some of my classmates, nearly 40 in total) bought into.
The essential element of the whole thing was to get people to commit to the next phase. That's you job, and they expect you to cold call. I later learned that to actually get anywhere you HAVE to cold call because their telemarketers "qualify" leads by simply confirming the person's name and address. Sometimes they don't even do that much.
NOT ONE SINGLE CLIENT KNEW I WAS COMING IN NOR HAD THEY HEARD OF THE COMPANY. The comment made to me by the manager was always "well did you sell them anyway?". Who in their right mind is going to have someone drop in uninvited and allow some phantom company to root through their books based on a drop in one hour presentation.
I did have some success and made some money but felt horrible after and have been doing my best to distance myself from IPA IBA ever since. I should also add that from my huge class not one single person still works for the company. Most lasted a week.
I CAN NOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH... DO NOT WORK FOR IPA IBA. THEY STEAL PEOPLE'S MONEY. I HAVE SINCE LEARNED THAT THE TROLL OF AN OWNER WAS ONCE A LAWYER BUT LOST HIS LISCENCE TO PRACTICE. HE WAS ALSO CONVICTED OF VISITING AN UNDERAGE PROSTITUTE!!! THESE ARE WITHOUT A DOUBT THE WORST PEOPLE TO WORK FOR.
I SHOULD ALSO POINT OUT THAT I WAS NOT FIRED. THEY WILL NEVER FIRE ANYONE BECAUSE THEY HAVE A HARD ENOUGH TIME KEEPING ANYONE FOR MORE THAN A COUPLE MONTHS. I QUIT AFTER GIVING MY PERSONAL NUMBER TO A CLIENT WHO WAS A GENUINELY NICE PERSON AND IPA TOOK HIM FOR CLOSE TO 40 THOUSAND DOLLARS.
HE CALLED ME AFTER AND ASKED ME WHY I DID THAT TO HIM. MY NEXT PHONE CALL WAS TO IPA TO TELL THEM I WAS OUT. THEY BEGGED ME TO STAY AND CALLED FOR 2 WEEKS AFTER NO LESS THAT 60 TIMES. THEY GOT VERY HOSTILE AND ONE EMPLOYEE NAMED DIMITRI ACTUALLY THREATENED ME AND MY FAMILY. (I have a hard time taking any of them seriously though. Unless he was planning on somehow falling on me I doubt any of the overweight morons I saw in that office could hurt anything other than a buffet)
DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND NEVER EVER WORK FOR IPA IBA AND FOR GOD'S SAKE DON'T LET THEM IN YOUR BUSINESS. EVER.
