at its best!

They called when they received my cancellation letter for Verizon Yellow Pages ad.
Saying that I was too late to cancel, and they have made numerous attempt to contact me for renewal, and because I did not respond in a timely manner, the contract was renewed...
When I called account rep. after searching my record, he told me he has even sent me a certified mail after failing to contact me. He supposedly sent me the certified letter Aug.31st, 2009.(closing date in the contract was conveniently 9/4/2009)
I have the letter alright and I not only saved the letter, but also the envelope with certified tag, and by using my meter, I marked the date I sent cancellation.
The letter and the contract they sent to me was stamp printed on 9/24/2009, and post marked 9/25/2009...

I have dealt with auto renewal scam before, with a home alarm co. from Texas.
If you sit idle and hope for a justice..., it never comes...
If anyone is being tormented in this manner, you might consider what I am planning to do.

I am filing complaints with

Federal Trade Commission.  http://www.ftc.gov/index.shtml
Better Business Bureau.     http://www.bbb.org/us/

I am writing a letter of complaint to all the Verizon executives holding them responsible by choosing unethical business partner, letting them use Verizon name, thus causing consumers and small business owners to put a blind trust as I viewed Verizon as a responsible and a upstanding American company.

I am going to do more research on organizations that can help and stop this unjust practice. I plan to post follow ups, as it progress.
