back in august of 2008 my verizonl phone carrier started billing me $16.00 extra every month, now i have a lifeline account can,t have no extras and verizon was instructed by me back in 1984 to put a block on my line so no one could charge any thing to my account without them checking with me first ,.this was not done in august ,when i inquired i was told by them i must call the co the co told me that i had answerer a questionair on the internet and i ordered their services not true i have a answering machine and iam home all day why would i need their services well they wants to only credit three months of their charges which has amounted to six months i had my services cut off because of this i can,t afford any extras on my bill iam a disable person living on a fixed income it seams to me that verizon is in on this with them they are the billers and put the charges on my phone iam talking about verizon but they can,t help you get your money back after you have paid your bill to them which they have collected for ild teleservices thanks for your help

I am a former employee of Servicing Solutions Group. Unfortunately, in my time there I heard a lot of calls like this and I wish to clarify what consumers have no idea about, or choose to ignore.
When AT&T was broken up, the phone companies were made to put into place 3rd party billing, where a company outside of your provider is able to bill to your phone bill. This is completely LEGAL. Maybe not ethical or moral, but it is completely legal and has been for over 30 years.
There are registration forms filled out and on file and I have seen for myself that it is clearly stated, NOT in fine print but in regular, readable print, what the person is registering for.
ILD and Servicing Solutions Group (SSG) are different companies. ILD is a billing company and they bill on behalf of dozens of different companies to your phone bill. SSG provides customer service for different services and is contracted with those services and is completely seperate from ILD. These companies do not have any info on each other besides that.
When a customer calls their phone companies, AT&T and Verizon reps have NO INFORMATION other than possibly the amount of the charge. Also, these companies (ILD, SSG) have NO INFORMATION about the customer's phone company account, as that is protected private info.
