Beware of Info Net Products sales tactics. I ordered a digital cable converter from this company which promoted it as guaranteed to work with my cable company. Having provided all the information as requested, cable company, region, etc., they said it would work as promoted and could be used to replace Time Warner converter and monthly fees, as well as access to all channels.

The first trick these companies use to induce you to do a COD with UPS instead of credit card. They indicate they will have to contact credit card company first with permission from cable company? I ordered by credit card, and got call with information above which will delay delivery for weeks, and then conveniently offered the COD offer which then leaves you at the mercy of their lies and guarantee.

NOTE: DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING COD CASH OR BANK CHECK NO MATTER WHAT EXCUSE IS USED TO INDUCE YOU BY SALES PERSON.

Simply put, having been assured that this unit would work with my cable company, I paid for cable converter, COD bank check, it arrived and I called company as it was not a simple replacement for current cable box I was renting from Time Warner. They called cable company, and then said I needed a special card to unlock it? Cable company came, I had to take day off, the card they had would not fit unit? They had no other card, they had no way to activate unit in their system. I paid cable company $35.00 for home service call.

Now here is the game. Info Net Products service person used one delay excuse after another to insure you were beyond refund period, and when you read all the instructions, it is obvious they were not going to refund anything, never mind the loss of $35.00 for COD fee, and shipping.

When you read refund and return information, you have to register warranty card first, and of course, since I was returning it from start, who would complete the warranty card under this circumstance? This was the first trap since they state no refunds without filling out and submitting warranty card. I could understand this if you returned unit after a month, but not in first week.

Second trap. You have option to ship it back at your expense, with your choice of carrier, or you can use their shipping and they send you UPS shipping label. I chose this option as they would deduct this cost from the refund amount. I used their label, and now they claim they never recieved it, and because I did not have a reciept given it was their label and their UPS account, I have no way to track it, and they refuse to assist when they could easily have pulled up tracking since it was their UPS account.

Bottom line, this company is a fraud with a carefully crafted system to avoid refunding anyone. They use more tricks to mislead purchasers from the COD trap to the return instructions. They BS you to death, blame the cable company, but take no responsibility. They have a very clever calculated way to insure no one gets a refund. The product shipped was manufacturerd over 5 years ago, so obviously, it won't work with most cable companies, so they are simply unloading old merchandise with promise it will be campatible with current digital systems which all cable companies are moving to in a few months.

Simply put, no matter who you order from, if you cannot use credit card, don't purchase it, this is your only protection from this kind of fraud. They are very careful to insure you have no recourse legally with all the obstacles they have for returns. It would be impossible to get a refund with all the tricks employed. I lost my money, so don't lose yours, never order from this company, or any company who uses COD cash or money order system.

INFO NET PRODUCTS Cable Converter Co. is a low class RIPOFF.
