Innovative Merchant Solutions The company misrepresents themselves as our bank or Merchant Account Service to get our business. Calibasas California

Representatives from Innovative Merchant Solutions have called us repeatedly claiming that there is a transaction for 5000 that they need verification for before they can approve it. They have asked us to fax them an invoice for proof as well as our Merchant account number. It was never really clear if they meant a purchase that we had made or a transaction that we had tried to collect. The first call sounded more like it was something we had purchased. But then why would they need OUR Merchant Account number?

We don't use Mastercard (the card they claimed was used). Also, in the past when our bank or Merchant Services has contacted us they have always given me complete details about the transaction like location, what it was for, or the company involved. These callers have none of that, only an amount.

I checked with our Merchant Service and our bank. Neither are affiliated with Innovative Merchant Solutions. One woman at our bank suggested that they may be trying to get our Merchant Service Business - not the best way to get our business.
