I am writing this because I had a horrible experience with Insphere. They suffocate all agents, top producers down to newbies. They tell you that you should be paid "advances", which really means a money loan that you can't understand and can't ever pay off. They add interest and so many confusing fees on top of fees, that your agent balance never goes down! You WILL NEVER SEE A RESIDUAL INCOME FROM ALL THE BUSINESS YOU WRITE THROUGH INSPHERE!!!
They also pay commissions that are MUCH LESS than industry average. For instance, you go out on your own as a life, health producer and contract on your own with Blue Cross/Shield, Humana, Aetna, United, etc. and you will have 8-14% commission, depending on production level and state. Insphere, is maybe 5-7% at best.
But it gets worse. What most people don't get is that they only advance you 1/2 of the year. They then keep the other half to "pay down your agent balance". This technically means that they advance 1/2 of 5-7%, which is really 2.5-3.5% of the total commission per policy. YOU WILL NEVER BE INDEPENDENTLY WEALTHY WORKING FOR INSPHERE. They don't allow these carriers to offer their bonuses to Insphere Agents. I missed out on a $9K bonus from Aetna because I was contracted under Insphere! You also get paid more with the life, disabililty and long-term care carriers contracting on your own by the way.
I eventually caught on and starting contracting myself with other carriers they didn't offer because I needed to make more money. Here I was, getting awards from Insphere and verbal recognition, but no money and could hardly pay my bills. I decided in late 2011, not to renew my Insphere Contract.
Now they are trying to come after me for thousands. I WAS A TOP PRODUCER IN THE COMPANY AND MADE LESS THAN MINUMUM WAGE WITH THE HOURS I WORKED.
If anyone else has gone through this too, please contact me or reply and perhaps do something about this. I think everyone is scared of them. But they can't keep all my back end and other 1/2 of the year commissions, deny me bonuses carriers offer, keep all my clients, deny me access to carriers and then try to come after me for basically the same amount that they advanced! It's fraud, plain and clear. They have to be stopped before they do this to hundreds of other agents.

POSTED: Monday, June 11, 2012I had received the email through Monster.com and have asked Monster to do their own research regarding the employer. With people out of work and trying to make ends meet we cannot be spending hours of research to determine if every company is going to make large profits off of us while abusing their own people.
I would suggest that you beware of this company. There are many companies out there who truly care about the service they provide and the people who work for them and this company does not sound like one of them. Do your own research and decide for yourself. I am not saying they are a bad company but there are way to many reports that just don't add up on their side.

POSTED: Thursday, February 02, 2012As much as I need the money right now, I just don't have what they're asking for to be employed with them. Not that I should be paying anything to get employed with them besides using my JC Penny's card for a new work wardrobe! Anyway, thank you for your posts and I am truly sorry you were scammed for nearly a decade. Good luck to you!

Insphere...bad for agents and especially for clients

POSTED: Wednesday, January 25, 2012Or, you can do your research. There are literally hundreds of other agencies out there, big and small that can provide training and allow you to be independent, while giving you a decent commission percentage. You don't care that all you'll be getting for your health policies is about 2-3%? Really? Just for giggles, try calling the carriers themselves and ask them what they pay brokers. Each carrier provides tons of training too. Local area managers and webinars. You'd actually walk away with better knowlege of products if you went directly through each carrier. And as I mentioned before, Insphere charges MORE for leads than you would get through direct lead buying.
Oh yeah, and if you want decent bonus instead of Insphere's joke of "award per q's, selling direct through carriers is the way to go. I'd rather have money than worthless points towards over priced goods anyway.....
Again, good luck.

POSTED: Tuesday, January 24, 2012I was at Insphere for long enough to see that people who were there for 9 YEARS never saw a dime of their back end commissions. A couple of years was long enough for me to see that 1/2 of 1/2 of industry average commissions is NOT ACCEPTABLE (1/2 of 5-7%). It's not rocket science. It's called taking advantage of agents Quinn.
