Instant Checkmate Much totally WRONG data, data is for another name - someone else, deceptive web site, Las vegas Nevada

I just tried Instant Checkmate for their personal records check service.  As I knew what to expect, I checked my own name.  What a RIP-OFF.  It takes mutilple screens to get to the name inquiry and THEN they tell you the costs.  Initially they do NOT request a middle initial (which you may know and thus make the search quicker and more accurate) and thus I got many similar but incorrect names, plus a few that could be me.

I finally narrowed it down to what appeared to be my name.  It was me.  The first screen had VERY limited info and some was NOT correct.  In clicking on each of the several categories on the left side of the screen I received almost no additional information on myself and at 70+ years, I have some history.  The Marraige info was entirely wrong, not me.  The Arrest record was also someone else, different name, address, age, etc.  Wildly incorrect.  This is an absolutey terrible data base, JUNK.  

I tried the block at the bottom that allows adding a middle initial, city, state and age. Made ONE difference.  The info was now for an totally unknown person, not even close to being me.

I called Instant Checkmate to cancel (within 30 minutes).  Gail was quite nice.  After a hold of about 2 minutes she said my membership was cancelled except for the $1.00, 5 day trial and an e-mail had been sent to verify this.  She gave extended explanations on how their records are compiled, on and on.  Attributed it to the various sources they tapped into.  I knew all this but didn't interrupt her.  Regardless, the info is junk, much was someone else, not me.  This is not the fault of the agencies Instant Checkmate uses.  Instant Checkmate's computer program acquires, reads, checks, sorts, and compiles this data for distribution.  IT IS THEIR SCREWUP. This website is of no use or value what-so-ever.  

I checked and no e-mail.  About an hour later i checked again and the cancellation verification was there.  I printed it for my records.  There is a phone number cited for them, but no account or other referenece number on the cancellation.

I have NOT found one of these personal data search websites to be worth my time, let alone providing accurate or up-to-date information.  I wonder if they are compiling info for idenity theft purposes?  Much of what they claim to have could definitely be used for that purpose.  So why are they doing this??  A total waste of money, even just the $1.00 ! ! !   Avoid Instant Checkmate.
