Let me start out by saying there are manyonline security checksand some are reputal, but Checkmate is not one of them. My story is that I purchased there services without clearly knowing or clearly readingthe disclaimer nor their lets get started page.What cought my attention was the $179.40 taking out of my account. SoI went back to checkmate to find out why it was 179.40. Now understand that all of this took place within 1 hour.How everthey did offer a toll number to call. So I called. All of this took place 1/8/2011.

First of all if you call on a weekendyour on the phone holding for about 10 minuteslistening to this companieselavator music before you hear a recording of their hours. Which is M-F 8:AM PSTuntil I don't remember what time they close, so I can't give you that information. I don't remember seeing their office hours onthe web page either. When the answer maching was finished with their information, the voice on the other endtells youthat you could leave a brief message and someone would contact you! No onecontacted me by e-mailor phone, and I even left my name and a call back number.

Get this: I didn't even use their search engine, andstill haven't to this day.Now I'm waiting for Monday so that I can make that call. Now there web page claims "that you can cancel at anytime without even an explaination". I called the @ 8:11to canceledcheckmates services. I was told basically to put it in writing and send it to support@instantcheckmate.com. So before the lady hung up I asked her about getting a refund. she directed me to also add my request for a refundon the letter that I was sending to support@instantcheckmate.com, okay I did that.

 

I waited for a few days andgot online tocheck my account to see if the $179.40had beencredited back into my account. Look not only was the $179 dollars not refunded, but they never contacted me at all about this issue. So I sent out another e-mail explaining that I was not intrested in there service and how many business day's would it take before I would see my refundback into my account.

 

What I recieved once again was their quotes, and I was told that my order was canceled but that was for the year of 2012. Whatch out people because they have reacurring yearly fees at the same price that you've paid. Also I was told that I havethe whole yearto use their service. The demeanor of that e-mail was so rude. So basically you have their services, weather you wantit are not.Even if you catch your mistake within a hourand call them when they are open to canceling their services.

So to make a long story short it doesn't matter what you say,or dothey wil not give you, your cashmoney backunder any circummstance. Oh yeah theywil let you knowthat in the mean timeyou havethe use of their services for a year. I asked them where was their companies "integrity"? Hum I must have missed the memo on that one! I would never recommed them to anyone...not even my worst enemy. At this point all I can do is share my experience with you, and this was my experience.My thoughtson this online company is, they don't really care about anyone, no compasion,or empathy there employees can be somewhat rude ...and there passion isabout the mighty dollar. I will continue to share may story on any website that has a rip-off forum or any kind of forum for that matter.

All monies has been refunded to my account.  This was not an easy issue to resolve.  After sending them more than 2 e-mails the issue of a refund was not settled.  The BBB was contacted, and they took it from there.  A letter was sent out to Instant Checkmate by the BBB. A few days after the letter was sent, Instant Checkmate sent me a recipt for a refund to my e-mail address. All money was returned and the issue has been resolved.
