After a quick web search, I discovered that 24 Protect Plus has been a source of several complaints from Intelius customers. Apparently, when you use the Intelius service, they also sign you up into a monthly program with 24 Protect Plus. I didn't remember reading anything about that.
Just to be sure, I went back through the sign-up procedure on Intelius.com and scoured the fine print and all the links. There was absolutely no point where we agreed to trying the 24 Protect Plus service.
We called our credit card company (Chase) and had no trouble starting a chargeback fraud report. We also canceled the card and had a new number issued.
