Calling this company a bank is not entirely accurate. Go to- www.prevalhaiti.com/messages.php/7185 or www.madcowprod.com/04242008.html. Perform a quick search of "IBC bank president and drug trafficking". IBC is noted as a
"fast growing" bank in many finance articles and americanbanker.com, in fact they note the incredible speed of this growing institution. Not too bad for a bank started by two guys who could not get a loan from any bank. That is correct, two guys in Laredo Texas could not get a loan so they started a company for people just like them in 1966. It only took a cool million to start this company. What was the original loan going to be for? (Their lawyers do work fast though! Silencing dissenters and what not.)
One tactic IBC will use is to tell you they are local. This could not be further from the truth! Most of the share holders are Mexican citizens! However IBC will tell Mexicans they have banks in Mexico, but they do not! I have personally seen Sales Associates point to the picture of Mexico and say they have banks in Mexico. International only lends to the comedy of this company-International Bank of Commerce Bank?? As a matter of fact IBC does not even have any international partners! Unlike real international banks who partner with foreign ATM's to save you charges IBC will leave you stuck with the fee and the conversion! Worse yet IBC will probably shut off your debit card at your first foreign point of sale and still charge you $5 for the replacement that comes in two weeks! Sorry once a debit card is cancelled that's it, you have to get a new one in the mail, at least with IBC. Business owners don't even bother asking for letters of credit, IBC employees will look at you cross eyed.
If you are no friend of Republicans you will find it interesting that IBC President Nixon once raised $300,000.00 in one night for John McCain in his bid for President. Listen to any of these people speak for a few seconds and you will see IBC has no love for the Democrats. When confronted on national debt IBC Austin Executives could only say, "quit voting for Obama."
Do not be too happy if you are a Republican however; IBC I'll remind you is foreign owned and highly favors open borders. Look at any philanthropic activity this bank takes part of and you'll see the truth. IBC is also very vocal about suppressing community banks and interrupting free trade. Call it survival or good business, but it's not in line with someone who may favor free markets.
The average IBC employee at the branch level in the Austin area stays with the bank for about one year. Some are much less and of course some are a bit more, but the true average is one year. Ask any IBC customer and they will attest to the incredibly high turnover rate. Are you comfortable doing business with a company who treats employee's poorly? How can these employees be very knowledgeable when a six month employee is considered a veteran?
Would you like to come in to IBC for a checking account and check back later only to find you have 4 checking accounts? Sales associates and tellers have such high goals that they do often times open accounts for people who don't know about it. Never mind getting hassled and conned to no end for their cross sales, it's going to happen; accept it! Many of IBC's lower managers,
such as Teller Supervisors, gained promotions based on these fake accounts! Executives said "wow, thirty accounts a month you must really know your stuff!"
Would you like to do business with a company that promotes incompetent managers? One area manager is known to all employees as unable to tell the difference between personal loans and auto loans!!! If you need a loan hope this guy doesn't talk to you!
Another exciting plus to banking with IBC is the fact that they will close your account and not tell you! This happens all the time! If the lower area managers do not like the sales associate who opened your account they will close it! Office politics rule this
place and there is plenty of proof of these petty idiots closing accounts for personal reasons! One great example is of a business owner opening several accounts for organizational purposes and all, but one being closed! Why?
Because an Area Teller Supervisor and an Area Sales Manager did not like the associate who opened it! Even better they made a mistake and had the audacity to call the business owner and tell him they would force debit his account to cover their mistake!
Oh, but rest comfortable every time a customer walks into a local IBC branch they are preceded by one of two thoughts; 1- How can we shake down the mark, 2- Oh crap an idiot customer. IBC employees will tell you they only get the dumb customers and they will insult you behind your back. At least go to a bank with professional employees and professional standards.
If you choose to do business with IBC you will find yourself frustrated to no end. IBC is run by incompetency from the President down to the branch manager. You will have unusual fees, employees who can't perform simple tasks or tell you what IRA stands for and managers who really don't care because they don't have to deal with you! Please let this corrupt business leave Austin, spread the word! If your employer banks with IBC make sure they are informed! IBC does not care if it loses customers, business is what keeps it going! Lets band together as a community and kick this bank off Congress Ave. and out of this city!
