I have disputed this charge with Direct Merchants Bank Discover card and hopefully they will stand by me. I was under the impression that I was to receive a product for my initial "investment" of $2.97. I received nothing. I was redirected to a first page that was asking me to set up a credit card machine account and wanted dangerous info that no one should send out to an unknown, so I promptly went to their "contact" page. There I canceled this transaction / "purchase" and followed up with an e-mail. I also saw where they wanted me to call to cancel. When I informed the representative I wanted to cancel, I was put on hold and no one ever came back. Subsequently, I was also charged an additional $139.95. The written cancellations were made well within the 72 hour right to rescind. If you also have fallen into this trap I suggest you immediately cancel the card used to prevent the unauthorized charge of$139.95 and than request a new card.

Got me also *EDitor's Suggestions on how to get your money back into your bank account that someone wrongfully takes it from you!

AUTHOR: Roland Taylor - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 16, 2010

I to am very displeased with ICM's taking of my unauthorized funds from my account. I applied to spend the $2.97 fee to "get information to look over". The information took over two weeks before it got to me and at this point, I still have not even reviewed it.

When I got my credit card account information yesterday I was staggered to discover that they had charged me an additional $139.95 without my knowledge. I too ran into the issue of contacting them and being put on hold. I haven't given up in regards to contacting them to cancel this program and request a refund for at least the $139.95.

I admit applying for the information and accepting the $2.97 fee to review their materials, but in no way would I have authorized an additional amount such as that of the $139.95, especially for something that I haven't even had the chance to peruse yet.

This is a definite rip-off way to get your money and I would advise anyone thinking about it to definitely think twice and move on to another option.

EDitor's Suggestions on how to get your money back!

HERE IS WHAT RIP-OFF REPORT SUGGESTS YOU DO:

Go to your bank within 60 days of the charge, or as soon as you know about the charge, don't delay, and tell them that there has been fraudulent activity within your account. Explain that you wish to file a dispute, and demand that they assist you in accordance with Federal Regulation E.

According to the majority of victims interviewed by Rip-off Report, those who immediately called their banks to dispute the charges did not get very far. Many victims got the following responses from their banks: we could not do anything for you or you waited too long; it has been more than 60 days.

If the bank is says that you have waited too long, explain to them how you called their 800 number as soon as the charges were found, and were told by the bank that nothing could be done. Remind the bank that they failed to assist you properly at the 800 #, and instead, provided you with an inadequate explanation of your right to dispute. Tell the bank that it's their fault time has expired, and since they gave you the wrong info to begin with, they will just have to deal with it, take the loss and reverse the charges.

Tell them the truth; this was unauthorized and your account was NOT to be charged! Keep emphasizing how you never authorized anything! Direct them to the hundreds of victims reports that were filed on Rip-off Report.com. And if you're at the bank, walk them over to their computer and make them go to this site! If you are on the phone with them, tell them you will wait while they access this site! Either way, be persistent!

DO NOT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER!

Let them know nicely, that you were advised to Report them (the Bank) and this situation to the Banking Commission in your state. Since each state has a different name for the agency/controller over banks, find that name before you call or get to the bank so you can throw it in their face. The more knowledgeable you appear to be, the further you will get.

And just continue to demand the Federal Regulation E form! The bank CAN, MUST and WILL reverse the charge! But, you must be persistent; ask to speak to the supervisor or the area manager for all the branches in the state.

Let the bank personnel know you are meeting with the media later in the day, that you would much rather they do the right thing (as most other banks have) by looking at the complaints and immediately reversing the charge(s) to your account; no matter how long ago it was. Be sure to call the Media if necessary so you are telling the truth.

If you have to, be loud (but nice) in front of other customers. If you are just calling by phone, the above tactics should still work. The bank can easily fax or mail to you the Federal Regulation E dispute form.

CHARGES TO YOUR CREDIT CARD

If the charge was to your credit card (not debit card, check card, or checking account), contact the credit card company as soon as possible to request a dispute form. Consumers usually have a little longer to dispute fraudulent credit card charges (up to 6 months), but it is better to act right away. In this type of situation, credit card disputes are usually successful since fraudulent companies often won't contest the disputed charge. In rare cases, credit card companies will review disputes, but refuse to reverse the charges. If this occurs, complain to a manager and let them know you will be filing a report here.

Remember Don't let them get away with it! Make sure they make the Rip-off Report .. The more Reports filed on a Company or individual, the more likely it is that the authorities, media and attorneys will want to take action.

And good luck Let us know how you do!

AUTHOR: Barbara Martin - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, May 04, 2010

I am so pissed at the ICM Websites for their mishandling of my money. They took $139.95 out of my account with out my knowing about it. I thought they were taking $2.97 so that I could check out the business they were talking about. I got my bank receipt and discovered what they had done. Like the other people I didn't get a thing in return for my money I plan to start some crap if they don't put the money back and do it soon.

Internet Cash Machine - ICM Websites They refuse properly requested refund

Re; ICM rebuttal

It is clear from the text of the rebuttal that several facts have been omitted and some were completely falsified. It amazes me the extent that this company is willing to go through to take money that clearly was not authorized by me.

Here is how all this starts - this is a copy and paste of the original add from ICM. It starts with a picture of a "work at home mom"  who supposedly made $8,795.00 a month working part time at home. Here is the link for your review - http://www.news6alerts.com/?ID=alifsc-cem-mom2a Please also note at the bottom of the testimonial page is now mysteriously closed at the time of this writing.

Please note that "Step one" clearly states that $2.97 is for "shipping". As I originally stated in my complaint, "I received nothing".

They stated in the rebuttal "

Customer is not stating that he called into the office and spoke with a CS rep and admitted that he was aware of the terms and conditions and the charges for the service." This is the first out and out lie. In my original complaint I clearly stated,

"I also saw where they wanted me to call to cancel. When I informed the representative I wanted to cancel, I was put on hold and no one ever came back." Please note this is repeated on other complaints from other ICM "customers" on this same site. The terms were irrelevant. I was calling within the 72 hour period TO CANCEL!

They than stated another completely outrageous lie. "A refund will not be provide due to the fact that this customer has already received the funds back." I called Discover card today and no funds have been returned. No funds were received back and my dispute with Discover Card continues.

After giving the card information for the "shipping" of the product I was directed to a landing page the was to set up a credit card accounts receivable account. It required banking information and this is where I stopped. There was no way I was giving out his information to an unknown via the Internet.  I went to their "Contact us" page and notified them of my cancellation IN WRITING. This is a copy paste from my original complaint in Rip off Report - " I was redirected to a first page that was asking me to set up a credit card machine account and wanted dangerous info that no one should send out to an unknown, so I promptly went to their "contact" page. There I canceled this transaction / "purchase" and followed up with an e-mail.

I also sent a letter to their California address using the USPO Certified mail and printed a delivery confirmation for my records.

They continued to go on in their rebuttal about how all the steps past the point at which I stopped continue to list their terms. It ironically sounds like a scripted conversation that was read to me without stopping and giving me no opportunity to comment when I called them after seeing the charge of $139.95 which I clearly denied them the right to take with repeated written statements.

Their rebuttal ends with "Please contact me
directly if I may be of any further assistance. This customer can keep any
materials that were received as our gift.
Respectfully yours,Internet Cash Machine Staff"

Again, nothing was ever received. I stopped on the credit card merchant page and notified them in writing in three separate ways that I wished to exercise my 72 hour right to rescind. I have benefited in no way and received nothing of any value what so ever from ICM.

I will be relentless with my dispute with this fraudulent charge with Discover Card in accordance with Federal Regulation E. It is inconceivable to me that a reputable company would fight this hard with any customer over this amount of money.

The reports on the site about ICM are growing daily and have tripled sense I filed my report. If your entertaining doing business with them I suggest you read all the other complaints and observe the similarities. Is there a pattern here?

Customer is neglecting to state that he was aware of the terms and conditions for the service

AUTHOR: Director of Operations - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, April 01, 2010

Thank you for your correspondence in connection with the above-referenced matter. It is clear from the text of the complaint that all the information was not provided by the complainant in regards to the program was signed up for and the requisite charges for that program, and several facts have been omitted that once revealed will hopefully clear up this matter.

Customer is not stating that he called into the office and spoke with a CS rep and admitted that he was aware of the terms and conditions and the charges for the service.

We have terminated this customers account and no further charges will be conducted on their account.

A refund will not be provide due to the fact that this customer has already received the funds back.

The Internet Cash Machine (ICM) is a turn-key business opportunity that offers prospective clients the ability to create single product websites, as well as,  Mall Webstores which comes pre-stocked with products, some of which can be sold with no product cost to the merchant.  The websites are easily built with a few clicks of the mouse, yet are highly customizable for advanced users.  The websites are tied into a network of drop-shippers and fulfillment center making it easy for clients to select products and deliver them to their clients without handling them.  Included in the program is a mall webstore that ties all of the clients products together allowing them to market a variety of products through an internet mall web site. Internet Cash Machine also offers ICM clients merchant accounts with the ability to accept credit cards and ACH services

Internet Cash Machine is a membership site that provides users with all the tools and information necessary to learn how to post websites and webstores and launch products for auction on eBay to make money online.

In order to sign up for the Internet Cash Machine program, the customer MUST go thru the following steps.

        1.       Client reaches Internet Cash Machine site through different internet advertisements.

        2.        Client is directed to a sales landing page to enter preliminary information. Note that there is a

link at the bottom of the page to the Terms and Conditions of the signing up for the program.            3. Then the customer MUST provide their credit card information on the secured payment page.

By placing my order I agree to the Terms of Offer, which explain this order includes the about for just $2.97 for processing. If you enjoy the 3-day trial and continue your path to making money, you will be billed a one-time fee of $139.95 and a monthly maintenance fee. You may cancel anytime by calling 1-877-863-3088.

Again on the credit information page, the terms and conditions of the program are noted on the page in several different areas. First, there is a  link on the bottom of the page for the Terms and Conditions. Second,  the Terms and Conditions and charges for the program are listed on the page, directly to the left  of the Rush My Order button.  Those terms and conditions and charges for the service clearly state that there are 3 different charges for this program. The first is  the initial charge of $2.97 for processing of the account. The $2.97 charge provides the customer with access to the service for a 3 Day Trial Period.  The 3 day period provides the customer with access to the service so they can ascertain if they would like to continue with the service and incur the additional charges for the service. After the 3 day trial period has expired, as the terms clearly state, the customer is then charged the second charge, which is a one-time $139.95 charge for the service membership.  The customer then has access to the full service until they elect to cancel the service. Each month that the service is active the customer will be charged a monthly maintainance fee of $4.95.  The exact terms that are on the credit card information page are enlarged below for better viewing.

In addition to clearly spelling out each fee required for the service, we provide the number for the customer to call to cancel the account.

The link to the terms and conditions that is listed on each page involved in the signup process, take the user to the Terms and Conditions page, represented by the graphic below.  Again, ALL the program costs, charges, terms, conditions and cancellation procedure are clearly spelled out on the page.

Immediately after the credit card information page has been completed and the customer clicks on the "Rush My Order button, the terms are again presented to the customer in the form of a pop-up on the page that again lists the terms for the program and service.

It is at that point that the customer will see a Confirmation Page that confirms their signup is complete for the service and provides them with the username, password, and customer service contacts for their account.   Then a Welcome Email is sent to the email address the customer provided us upon signing up for the service.

After the customer has reviewed the Confirmation Page, and received the Welcome Email at their email address, all that is left for the customer to do is to login to their ICM account.  Below is the signin page to access the ICM customers accounts.

Once they are into their account, they must confirm their personal information to make sure that they are in the correct account and their account was set up correctly. From their the customer can set their own path to begin to create their website. Within the administration of their website they will periodlically be presented with additional tool and services for their business, such as a Merchant Account to accept credit cards for their products and services on their website.  These services arre entirely optional and the customer can bypass them with a simple click, if do not wish to obtain that certain service.

Based on the above representations and facts, there can be no question that ICM has taken every step to assure that all the terms and conditions are displayed multiple times throughout the sign up process and after the signup is complete.  For any customer to state that, they were not made aware or did not see or was not informed or did not authorize the charges about the pending charges for the service, would be a mistatement of the obvious facts.

We have terminated this customers account and no further charges will be conducted on their account.

Internet Cash Machine is committed to the success and satisfaction of all of its clients and conducts its business in compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.  Please contact me directly if I may be of any further assistance. This customer can keep any materials that were received as our gift.

Respectfully yours,

Internet Cash Machine Staff
