SEO Reputation Management at its best!

I'm sick of receiving interview offers from BOGUS companies, so I've decided to call these fake companies out- so YOU can save yourself the time and effort to find a legitimate job. I sent out about 10 resumes on Monster.com last night. I received a response from one at 9:00am this morning from hrassistant@employmentnetwork.org stating:
Hello,

We are interviewing next week!

Thank you for your interest in the Internet Company and for emailing us regarding our Human Resources Assistant position.  We have received your resume and invite you to visit our Web site to complete your initial job application and learn more about the company.

From our flexible, project-based approach to our innovative perks and benefits, we make sure our employees have great jobs and great lives.  Do you enjoy being challenged?  Are you a hard worker who enjoys having fun?  Do you want to make a difference?  If your answer is yes, welcome to The Internet Company.

Thank you once again for your interest.  We hope to meet you soon.

Make it a great day!

The Internet Company Management Team I clicked on the link, filled out very basic information and attached my resume, and was brought to a screen where I selected my interview date and time. I realized I didn't know much about this company, so I went to their website, internet-company.com to learn more. What I find telling about these 'companies', is that their website it completely devoted to HIRING new candidates, but tells very little about the products or services they provide. I've noticed most of these scams claim to work with "Fortune 500 companies", and show pictures of the staff, usually at rewards parties or vacations. This shows how "cool" and "fun" the company is, but does nothing for its credibility. All of these red flags were present on The Internet Company's website. I found absolutely NOTHING else regarding the company on google... except on Media Logic, Inc's website- medialogicinc.com. Media Logic's entire "Press" section was a blog exclusively outlining all of the 'charity work' The Internet Company has done. These are clearly two uniquely named companies working as one. I searched for information on Media Logic Inc, and found NOTHING again. However, I did notice another post on The Ripoff Report explain that QWEST marketing had changed its name to ThreeStars.... and ironically, the Contact email address on MediaLogic Inc's website is services@THREESTARSTEAM.com. After about a half hour of searching, I have connected the three companies and found that they are all QWEST, working under different names. From what I've read on this site, QWEST seems to work for online schools to find new recruits. I don't know the logistics of how QWEST operates, but why all the smoke and mirrors? Why three different names for one company? Why not be honest with the company's operations, the pay, and the type of work? What is QWEST hiding that forces them to be so secretive? Unfortunately, I don't have these answers. Needless to say, I will NOT be wasting my time by attending this interview, and I suggest you do the same! *** Another very similar company is Prestige Solutions of Casselberry, which I will also write a Ripoff Report about! ***

internet company inc

AUTHOR: Bob - (United States of America)

I appreciate the postings I located on ripoffreport.com since I had an interview scheduled for tomorrow morning. Like every one else, I had attempted to find information about the company online to be frustrated by the LACK of info available. Being the owner of two businesses that extensively use the internet for business, I was a bit stumped. How can a company called The Internet Company, Inc. not have a verifiable web presence? Now I know why. I will be contacting careerbuilder as well about this problem. Careerbuilder.com evidently does not really screen their vendors very well. It's like a very poor reflection of the state of business in this country as well. Why am I looking for a job when I own two businesses? Because I have been effectively legislated out of business by the federal government. Honest work and integrity doesn't seem to qualify for much these days.

I just went through the same situation

AUTHOR: TurboCat24 - (United States of America)

I just went through the same situation.  This company also goes by the name of The Internet Company.

I applied for an educational adviser through careerbuilder.  The next day I got an e-mail for what I thought was an interview. So I scheduled it for the next day.  It turned out to be an assessment test.  After I was through I was told to go onto their website the next day to see if they would like to bring me back for a second interview.  So of course I got the 2nd interview (from what I gathered today EVERYONE gets a 2nd interview.) Yesterday was the 2nd interview that turned out to be a presentation about the company and the verification specialist position.  At the end of the presentation the receptionist came in to schedule everyone for an actual interview.

Today was my interview and I have to say it was the strangest interview I have ever been on!  It was like he was giving me a sales pitch! He told me the first two weeks I would work between home and the office and I would be considered an "independent contractor" then if they liked me I would be brought full time into the office (making $10 per hour) for the second half of my training.  Eventually if everything goes good I should be in the educational adviser position within 90 days.  He then told me that is where the BIG money is.  When I expressed concern about the 90 day "training period" and had questions about the position is where I started to feel that he was getting annoyed with me.  He rushed me though my questions and then told me that he was spending WAY too much time with me and he had other candidates he needed to speak to.  He also pressured me on committing to the position.  He told me I could start tomorrow. When I told him I wanted to think about it he told me that he did not like things pending so basically if I was interested to call him.  I have a feeling from his behavior he gets paid on the people he brings in.  It was such a disappointment and a major waste of time!

Definitely something wrong

AUTHOR: James - (USA)

So I had the "interview" with them. I am moving to the Orlando area, so I'm trying to find a job down there. I stumbled on this job offer on Careerbuilder.com. I filled out the required info and set up the interview. I had a 2 1/2 hour drive to get there. The people weren't friendly at all but that's besides the point. So I get to the front desk and tell the receptionist that I have an interview. She first asks for my resume then has me take a picture which she tells me "it's so they can put a picture to the resume" She then takes me to a room full of computers in which she tells me that I need to take an assessment. The assessment was nothing but word associations and math problems. It was easy, only took about 10 minutes. So as instructed on screen once you're done, I went back to the receptionist. She then hands me their business card and tells me took check my results after 10 A.M. the next morning to see if I move on to the second of 3 interviews. I drove 2 1/2 hours to take a 10 minute assessment which I could have taken online and not wasted my one day off. I then checked the next morning to see that I had been rejected. I know I didn't fail the assessment I guessed on maybe 3 of the questions and even then it was multiple choice which I used process of elimination. So an entire day wasted for what I was told was an interview which turned out to be a photo op and assessment which could have been done at home. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME as I did. I wish I checked here before I wasted my one day off this week.

Just as confused

AUTHOR: ekb - (United States of America)

Lindsay,

I recieved the same email from the Internet Company and began doing the same research when I cam across your post. I agree with you, something is really wierd about them using all of the different names. Yeah, they have great websites that appear to make it looks as though its an amazing place to work but there is no information available on these companies when you try to research them. One other thing that made me skeptical is that I applied to two differnt positions and recieved two replies back for interviews and the same time pretty much. The fact that nobody called me is also something to be concerned about.

I would really like to know what the deal is with these companies. I am goin gto contact them and try to get an answer. If you find out any more information please post it. Depending on what is going on here, I may report it to career builder or something.
