The Internet Company Management Team I clicked on the link, filled out very basic information and attached my resume, and was brought to a screen where I selected my interview date and time. I realized I didn't know much about this company, so I went to their website, internet-company.com to learn more. What I find telling about these 'companies', is that their website it completely devoted to HIRING new candidates, but tells very little about the products or services they provide. I've noticed most of these scams claim to work with "Fortune 500 companies", and show pictures of the staff, usually at rewards parties or vacations. This shows how "cool" and "fun" the company is, but does nothing for its credibility. All of these red flags were present on The Internet Company's website. I found absolutely NOTHING else regarding the company on google... except on Media Logic, Inc's website- medialogicinc.com. Media Logic's entire "Press" section was a blog exclusively outlining all of the 'charity work' The Internet Company has done. These are clearly two uniquely named companies working as one. I searched for information on Media Logic Inc, and found NOTHING again. However, I did notice another post on The Ripoff Report explain that QWEST marketing had changed its name to ThreeStars.... and ironically, the Contact email address on MediaLogic Inc's website is services@THREESTARSTEAM.com. After about a half hour of searching, I have connected the three companies and found that they are all QWEST, working under different names. From what I've read on this site, QWEST seems to work for online schools to find new recruits. I don't know the logistics of how QWEST operates, but why all the smoke and mirrors? Why three different names for one company? Why not be honest with the company's operations, the pay, and the type of work? What is QWEST hiding that forces them to be so secretive? Unfortunately, I don't have these answers. Needless to say, I will NOT be wasting my time by attending this interview, and I suggest you do the same! *** Another very similar company is Prestige Solutions of Casselberry, which I will also write a Ripoff Report about! ***

I just went through the same situation

POSTED: Thursday, December 03, 2009I just went through the same situation. This company also goes by the name of The Internet Company.
I applied for an educational adviser through careerbuilder. The next day I got an e-mail for what I thought was an interview. So I scheduled it for the next day. It turned out to be an assessment test. After I was through I was told to go onto their website the next day to see if they would like to bring me back for a second interview. So of course I got the 2nd interview (from what I gathered today EVERYONE gets a 2nd interview.) Yesterday was the 2nd interview that turned out to be a presentation about the company and the verification specialist position. At the end of the presentation the receptionist came in to schedule everyone for an actual interview.
Today was my interview and I have to say it was the strangest interview I have ever been on! It was like he was giving me a sales pitch! He told me the first two weeks I would work between home and the office and I would be considered an "independent contractor" then if they liked me I would be brought full time into the office (making $10 per hour) for the second half of my training. Eventually if everything goes good I should be in the educational adviser position within 90 days. He then told me that is where the BIG money is. When I expressed concern about the 90 day "training period" and had questions about the position is where I started to feel that he was getting annoyed with me. He rushed me though my questions and then told me that he was spending WAY too much time with me and he had other candidates he needed to speak to. He also pressured me on committing to the position. He told me I could start tomorrow. When I told him I wanted to think about it he told me that he did not like things pending so basically if I was interested to call him. I have a feeling from his behavior he gets paid on the people he brings in. It was such a disappointment and a major waste of time!

POSTED: Tuesday, December 01, 2009Lindsay,
I recieved the same email from the Internet Company and began doing the same research when I cam across your post. I agree with you, something is really wierd about them using all of the different names. Yeah, they have great websites that appear to make it looks as though its an amazing place to work but there is no information available on these companies when you try to research them. One other thing that made me skeptical is that I applied to two differnt positions and recieved two replies back for interviews and the same time pretty much. The fact that nobody called me is also something to be concerned about.
I would really like to know what the deal is with these companies. I am goin gto contact them and try to get an answer. If you find out any more information please post it. Depending on what is going on here, I may report it to career builder or something.
