I am a patent attorney, now helping two clients who've been ripped off by these crooks.
They promise the world, tell you your invention is new and exciting (even if a 10-minute search shows that it's not patentable), charge you $8,000 to $12,000 for a couple of computer-art drawings, and "promote" your invention by pasting the pictures onto a web page that nobody will ever find, even if they're trying.
These crooks used to operate in California as Advent Product Development, until bad publicity from a class action lawsuit induced them to set up shop in Arizona under a new name. You can find the class action lawsuit against them, Waters v. Advent, by Googling the case number, 07cv2089 and see the default judgement against them.
