We bought a beef package. Paid $180 They were pretty pressuring to get you to buy. They told us the hamburgers were same quality as from Logan's Roadhouse. When cooking they also smelled like cheap beef with the mature small. The burgers were smaller than a McDonalds reg. burger. The sirloins were a little dark after I thawed them out, a had a slight smell about them. They were also tough. I believe they may have been thawed and refrozen.
Don't buy these door to door meats! There is no guarantee of there quality or safety. They will tell you they are so good. But they are just trying to profit. Avoid them. Tell them to leave. The man I spoke to was a Randy, can't remember the last name. Lost the business card. A refrigerator magnet given to us only had the phone number. (901-372-9343)

Iowa steaks

I can't wait to try the other cuts of meat. If they are anywhere close to the strip I cooked in the frying pan then I will have gotten a great product at a good price.
I will now say that Iowa Steaks are of good quality. Appearance and price are a draw back however my father just purchased from someone other than the person I know and these things were pretty good. The steaks look like your average steak and I believe without actually weighing that the cost is a bit high. However these are the most tender steaks I have ever had in my life. The first steak I've had that I can cut with a fork.
After my last paragraph I sound as if I am now a customer of Iowa Steaks. This however is sadly untrue. I don't think the general public nor my self should be risking buying meat from those who could care less how it is handled. It was once a good profession to be in sales however now they hire the uneducated and lazy to sell things. These people do not care about food safety or how good or bad of a product they are selling. I do realize that some of these people probably take the job seriously and are very passionate about what they do. But the risk of coming into contact with the ones who don't outweighs any benefit.

Just shop at your local meat store or supermarket meat counter. The butchers will never be embarassed to tell you the USDA grade of the meat. They will never lean on you to buy exhorbitant amounts of meat. They will sell you meat by the pound, not by the piece. Remember, only a sucker buys meat by the piece. If you are dissatisfied you will always get your money back.
Why gamble???????

Consumer Report and a Response to Hippiechick

A gentleman from this company came to my door today and gave me some story on how he had extra cases and wanted to show me what he had and make me a great offer. He was a nice guy and the meat was professionally packaged and looked ok from what I could tell. I decided to take one case at the "chicken price" but googled the company afterward and found so many complaints that I called the salesman and asked him to come pick up the meat. He assured me he would not sell anything he could not stand behind and he wished I would try it first. Reluctantly, he gave me my check and took his meat back.
In response to Hippiechick's post:
Would someone with the username hippiechick be someone you would expect to have broken English/bad grammar? And the logic at the end about the person with the complaint being upset because they got the meat so cheap they couldn't buy beer. This sounds like it came from someone with a vested interest in the company.
I must say this:
I have never tried this company's product but when you type in their name in google and the third pop-up is "Iowa Steak Company Scam" that is a red flag and I have no desire to give them a shot at disappointing me.

I was told that their burgers was of the same quality as "Logan's Roadhouse" burgers. It is so funny, if you saw these burgers. They were smaller than any fast food's kids size burger. What a joke?
Cooked three Filet Mignon, the bacon wrapped around it smelled old when cooking. They ended up being the size of a large egg.
If I could upload pictures on here I would.
Only way I would satisfied now, is if the transaction never took place.
Thanks
