It's $425 per credit hour, vs. $86 for my local community college, which by the way has a much better rep. I can go there for two years, transfer into the local university(which has an even better rep), and get a BS for less than half the cost of ITT. I have not attended this particular campus; perhaps it is different from the others, and takes its' job of educating seriously. However, the consumer complaints against this place were simply to numerous for me to ignore. I'm just glad I found out before I began attending classes, and tommorow I will drop out. I also checked around with local IT companies and professionals, and the negative reviews of ITT were universal. To anyone thinking of attending ITT, I say be very cautious, and do your homework. You may be able to find a better alternative at a much lower price. By the way, the "entrance exam" was a joke; it was questions such as "If John drives at 60 miles per hour, how far will he drive in 3 hours?" That alone should have made me run for the door.

Besides me, I know someone else that has microsoft certify but wanted to get some more with the schooling.

Okay, he works for a 7/11 in the Philadelphia area so he sees everyone stop by.

There is this lady that I am not naming but she is admissions in Bensalem campus.

Don't be fooled at all by these scum of the earth.

If you sign a contract good bye.

They want $15,000- $40k. Why oh why does everyone go through this contract. It's bogus. They get your money and stocks from this company.

They smoke weed. Want proof. Ask them where the money is really going

Gold mine -vs- Copper mine

Whoever wants to attend ITT, don't!

I don't know about the entrance exam criticism (since I took one and passed. Hmm...!), what I do know is that the recruiter is fully trained to deceive people. I can vouch for that. My brother and I went to a recruiter in Earth City, MO (right next to St. Louis) in January of 2008. I believed his spiel at the time, but many people tried to stop. I was in love with ITT.

The more criticism I heard about ITT, the more I wanted to attend. Their equipment is state of the art and the recruiter kept showing me advertisements on his computer. You've seen them on TV before. Anyway, he asked what I was interested in After that conversation, he gave me some documents of what I would become in the future by those interests. Nothing wrong with that. When I saw the price tag, I shivered. When I got home and started looking through the manual, the next day I found out I had to pay triple what I was afraid to pay. I'm used to paying around maybe $200 to $250 for college, not more than $1,800 per class! I thought $446 was too much, and the statistics showed the price range for each unit was going up $25 for every quarter.

More to the story, even though brother persuaded me in the past not attend ITT, he forces himself to work there. Just for $250 every other week, he's getting twice the pay of a newspaper boy, I can vouch for that. He calls it the Copper mine and always droops his head when he says it. Don't get me wrong, he's an excellent teacher, but, I feel like his skills are wasted there. I'm not going to complain though, he needs money.

The Gold mine, my brother really wanted to go to this one. Medical Gateway Research Center. It offers high profits for each study. When you see a good opportunity, DO SOME RESEARCH first. Don't go head first.

Attending ITT is like crashing an investment and owing millions in repair. (Not literally, though, but a good demonstration)

Accredited??? NOPE!

Just so everyone knows I'm sure it's already been posted here but I wanted to reiterate: (from wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ITT_Technical_Institute )

ITT Tech is nationally accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools. It does NOT have regional accreditation; thus, most regionally accredited or traditional universities and colleges do not accept ITT Tech's credits for transfer and do not recognize its undergraduate degrees for entry into graduate programs.

No wonder I can't transfer any credits from this CRAP school. Along with not being able to continue with a masters degree afterward with another school!!!

Most schools are accredited by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council of Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

Springfield, VA ITT-Technical Institute is a complete WASTE!!!

AUTHOR: The Truth About Lies... - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, August 06, 2008

So I was attending this school anywhere from 06-07. Let me tell you how MESSED UP Springfield, VA ITT-Technical Institute is. First they try to get you into their school with the whole used-car-salesmen approach. Then they make sure you can pay at least 3 months worth of tuition. They suck out as much loans as possible at whichever rates they have available without any regard to your financial well-being. Once they have your money they could give a rat's-a*s what happens to you after that. They sign you up for the same cookie-cutter curriculum everyone else gets and tell you to go teach yourself basically. They have the worst non-English speaking teachers, the worst curriculum, and the worst faculty. The teachers change every quarter because almost all of them do not work there full time. They're probably just contracted out. Then if by chance you do get a decent instructor, they're not there for much longer than a quarter or two because they find better paying jobs, obviously Who would want to stay in that dump? Some of the good teachers actually felt bad leaving us behind because they knew it's a CRAP school.

Then you have the crappy instructors which I mentioned can't speak English to save their life God knows how they got DR. before their names. Maybe they did like us and pay ridiculous amounts of money to get their degrees while learning NOTHING. Yes I said it, I learned absolutely nothing the whole time I was there other than a 12% loan from Sallie Mae will rip you a NEW ONE!!! I am still hurting in 2008 trying to pay off the rest of the $35,000

This school is ALL-FOR-PROFIT school. They give all their money to the recruiters to make sure they suck you in. Which by the way I'm pretty sure they have more recruiters than teachers. Then they treat you like crap and never get anything right. From the financial office to the homework to the grades nothing is ever done right. For example: there's been so many times where I did absolutely nothing in class and still managed to get an A why? Because the teachers don't want to deal with paperwork that comes with students failing their classes. And I did not do work because I didn't want to??? NO NO NO it's because I was never given any work!!! There were several classes where the teachers just said do the lab exercises and went through the entire course without having a single lecture. On one of these instances the dean knew about it and said he would do something, but nothing ever happened!!!

Along with the dean not doing anything I even heard that he was accused of sexual harassment with several students. Took long enough but that person is no longer at that campus. But that had been happening for over a year before they had decided to let him go. Don't quote me on that but I'm certain that's exactly what happened since I have a friend that can vouch for that.

All in all I'm so disappointed with this stupid school when I originally went in hoping to be able to work full time while go going school full time and still get a decent education. This school targets low-income families and veterans. I feel bad for both parties that have to deal with such headache.

If I've helped you in any way please comment. If you still think this school is for you please explain why. I wish I could get my money back at least half or something for the crap I had to go through. I should've just stayed at NOVA and transferred to Mason. :(

-One last thing to add, I never got offered a good paying job. The job offers I received through that school paid entry level position salaries. I could've gone to NOVA and still managed to land those jobs. I continued to excel in the job I had before I even went to that school without any of their help. Just goes to show you that this school even with all the money you throw at them will not land you anything over $15-$18 an hour. We all know in Fairfax County that's basically minimum wage. Try paying off your $35,000-$70,000 degree like that while maintaining a home. Then what they do is try to claim that you are still at the job you had before, because of them. They use that for their statistics when they recruit more students. When most of the people who enroll in institutes already have full time jobs NOT because of ITT.

With regards to loan and enrollment cancellation...I'd go one step further and follow up these matters with letters sent via Registered Mail with Return Receipt. Issues like this that involve others making money have ways of being "mishandled." If you don't follow up throughly, you may be getting calls from a collection agent in a few months wanting the X-thousand of dollars in tuition. Good Luck.

*UPDATE*

Went to Itt Tech today and withdrew. Did'nt have any trouble doing so, sice I had not actually sat down at any courses yet. Even so, I'll be calling Salli Mae to make sure the loans are cancelled. I would like to emphasize that everyone I dealt with at ITT treated me with nothing but professionalism and courtesy, and I think that perhaps this campus is suffering from the poor performance of others, especially in California and Texas, the states which have generated the most complaints. But as I explained to them at my exit interview, the "ITT" name has a horrible rep among local IT business people, and with my age and financial situation, I can not afford to take any risks.
