It is hardly worth arguing with someone who is not even decent enough to
avoid personal insults. I will reply to this slur once, and after that
the author can have all this page to himself whatever he says. You will see below why he
is mad.

The review above was written by Mr. Joe Ricupero, the owner of RCon
Construction. It appears that until some time in 2010 his business was
called RRS Contracting. A search for Joe Ricupero on this site returns
10 reports, some dating back to 2008. You will also find his name on
Ontario Consumer Beware List. The province has laid 10 charges against him for various offenses.

Now that the reader understands who we are dealing with, here is our side of the story.

We hired RCon to finish our basement. We have paid everything according to
the schedule specified in the contract, except for final 15% balance
that was due upon completion. Well, the project has not been completed.
The contract states that it is to be finished by March 10, 2011. Mr.
Ricupero had been warned that we would have to go away for a week after
that, so the deadline was supposed to be strict.

RCon had full day access to the house except on weekends. However,
some days they would show up for a couple of hours, some days they would
not come at all. Not surprisingly they were not done on time. The last
day they were on the site was March 8, 2011. Joe sent my wife to buy
more grout that was supposedly needed. It took her only about an hour,
but when she came back they were gone. Apparently the idea was to pack up while she was gone.
They did not show up on the 9th or 10th. Joe sent us email saying he only needs one day to finish, so we can arrange once we are back. When Mr. Ricupero finally came to see us
to discuss what needs to be finished more than a week after our return,
he said he would come Tuesday, April 5th. He did not come in and made
another excuse. When I emailed him and said he had to honour his
promises or face court action, Joe shot back threatening to impose a
lien on our house. Eventually, after a few more emails written in the style of his report above,
our patience ran out and we told Mr. Ricupero he was not welcome on our property.
At that time we also did more research on his last name and were quite shocked.
This convinced us even more that we had to fire him.

The trick is that Mr. Ricupero avoids disclosing his last name to
customers, so that they are kept in the dark about his past history. He signs
his emails and estimates as "Joe, RCon Construction". You won't find
his full name on his website rconconstruction.com.
He did not have his last name in his profile on Handy Canadian,
although they have added it after my review. The only place where I
found his full name was the printed version of the contract.

Mr. Ricupero is mad at me for disclosing his last name on the web. He even lied to Handy Canadian saying he never did any work for me, so I had to fax them the contract.
