J C Financials Consumer Reward Program (Johnson Financials) Recieved check for $3900 and letter saying I won a Consumer Rewards Program Lottery Buffalo New York

I recieved a check in the mail from J C Financials for $3900 along with a letter stating that this was a final notification. It said it wished to notify me of the release of the consumers Reward Program Lottery in which I won a lottery for $39,000. It also states that they tried to contact me, which is false. We called over the phone (905-598-3854) and spoke with Veronica Wells as stated on the letter. (It also told us to contact Tony Marc as well) "Veronica" told us that we must have won by filling out a sweepstakes at a Walmart or Home Depot. She said that we would recieve a follow up check within 10 days from UPS after depositing the first check. We called the bank that the check was issued from which was First State Bank in Hempville, Texas. The person over the phone verified that it was a scam. This sounds like the other scam by Johnson Financials with altered names and numbers. Do not believe in this scam. We did not end up going through with depositing the check. Luckily, we searched online first and found other reports just like it.
