Contracted to put metal roofing on residential home and repair one leak before placing metal. Took down payment of $4000 on a $7500 contract to purchase materials. Proceeded to repair original leak and came up with several other leaks and fact that entire section of roofing required replacement. Charged an extra $1200 in materials and then $4000 in labor for replacement of roofing joists and plywood panels. Removed 9-12 sheets of marine paneling that was not used and several 2X6X12 boards for joists and did not discount materials price. After 2 weeks of working, did not return to complete work for 2 weeks and then only after numerous calls. When receiving $4000 labor payment did not tender receipt but promised to bring to residence once metal materials arrived (supposedly being shipped to him). Asked to cover open roofing work with tarpoulins to prevent damages from unexpected rain events. Mr. Tompkins refused. After 2 week absence from work, returned with minimal metal and worked for only 4 hours (most of the time just sitting on roof) and two days later for 2 hours. Roof has leaked where he worked 3 times in 3 weeks damaging ceilings walls and flooring in four rooms of home. Work still not completed. And roofer does not answer phone calls.
