Things they don't tell you. J K Harris as of May 26, 2011 is still a rip off just in case you want to know. What they don't tell you is that the IRS has guidelines already established for the dollar amounts allowed for monthly expenses. Example they do not care what your housing costs actually are they only allow a certain amount for one, two, or three depends so if you are single the allowance, we will say is $750 per month rent or mortgage, yours really could be $1500 per month rent or mortgage but the IRS only allows a certain pre-determined amount. The problem them is the IRS will not settle, which is understandable if you are able to pay your tax owed back, the catch is J K Harris already knows this and takes your money anyway. Good example I called 3 other tax assistance companies, I gave them my senerio the sames as I did with the J K Harris representative and they all told me the same thing up front " I could take your money from you like some of those other companies but I am not going to lie to you, you have done everything we could do for yourself for free, so I don't want to take your money" Interesting the J K Harris Representative did not and took my $2700.00 fee when he already knew there was nothing they could do to help me.
And that is a RIP OFF especially since you are already tight on money as it is, becasue you are trying to pay the IRS off in the first place.
I know it is big business but I really don't know how these people sleep at night, I guess better than I do.
