SEO Reputation Management at its best!

For anyone contemplating advertising with JB Dollar you really need to read the fine print. First of all I do not own the company I work for. However, according to JB Dollars' advertising contract I am to be held personally liable for the value of the contract should my company decide not to pay.

Secondly, the ad I signed for was paid up front. However, imagine how surprised I was when I was contacted by LifeLock letting me know my credit had been checked by JB Dollar. I confronted my sales rep I was shocked to find out that according to JB Dollars' agreement they have the right to check my credit anytime they want. She said their corporate credit manager is advising their sales staff of anyone who has bad credit and requiring them to push these customers for payment. For some reason I thought all of this was a violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act passed in 1970.

Owner Bob Minchak said in a published article on their web site that 'We put our customers on a pedestal,' he continues, 'and do everything to the best of our ability to serve our customers.' All I can say to that is Really"!!!!

Couldn't have siad it better myself

AUTHOR: watchdog - (United States of America)

I fully agree with the folks on here.
Are the owners upstanding, honest, forthright business people?
Has the company lost its' zing?
Are employees and customers fleeing the JB Dollar like mice a sinking ship?
Reports that were written 2-3 years ago, speaking more truth than even they imagined?
How is JB Dollar doing today?
How are the owners of the company doing?
Why has Mr Robert Minchak only responded to one report?
Does that mean all the rest are true?
Is the one he claims is false...is it true?
I find it interesting that if you read the reports from 2009, then the ones all the way to current,
past customers, former employees, why are they ALL basically saying the same thing.
Interesting thoughts here....interesting complaints...ARE THEY VALID?  let the consist reports , growing complaints,  and (especially 2012) the exodus of "loyal clients and employees along with these numerous complaints (also see cheap escape, same people, same complaints) speak for themselves.   Rebut this Mr Robert Minchak!!!!
one final note  Mr Minchak puts himself on a pedestal....no one else...

#2 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Not surprised in the least

AUTHOR: Kimmerz - (USA)

When I worked at JB Dollar I really thought I had landed a "good job." Sadly I was wrong. It's definitely at the top of my "worst jobs ever" list. The owners, Bob and Joan, treat their employees like crap (hence the extremely high turn-over rate) and are very sneaky in their contracts and such. I always felt that I was expected to lie to potential clients. "Lie" might be a strong word, but how about deceive? I rarely felt that I could be completely honest with them about what they were signing when they signed a contract. I even had one client who cancelled their contract early, and refered to JB Dollar as, "that piece of $h1t JB Dollar." (That actually cracked me up and I still refere to the magazine that way! LOL!)

After I left the company I posted on here, to warn others, business owners and potential employees alike, about this company. At the time I was the only one to post anything. I'm pleased to see that others are finally adding their stories!

I'm not saying the magazine is a piece, but the owner sure is! And the way the business is ran, and the way clients are deceived, is really crappy. From what I've heard the name JB Dollar is starting to lose some of it's popularity. Makes me happy I left when I did!

I'm sorry this happened to you. Don't be afraid to end your contract early. They won't charge you the "buyout" cost. That's just a scare tactic to make you ride out the contract, even if you're unhappy. And do NOT let them suck you back in! Just say no and walk away, or hang up if they call!

#3 Consumer Suggestion

JB Dollar Stretcher

AUTHOR: Blucas66 - (U.S.A.)

I have been reading the posts by both sides here and I'm a shocked to say the very least. JB Dollar is known in the advertising industry as a solid advertising media. They offer a wonderful means for CERTAIN types of businesses. Being an advertising sales rep and seeing these things that I see makes me cringe. The problem I have is the whole contractual agreement and the freedoms that JB seems to be taking with everyone it actually depends upon. Basically, they are biting the hands that are feeding them.

The rebuttals by the President of this company are shocking. If there is nothing to be concerned about and your product and company are rock solid, then why does this man feel the need to come on here or anywhere and defend it?

I sell radio advertising and use the JB magazine as a reference for new clients. I love it because these reps do 1/2 of the job for me. It's about working smarter and not harder. Anyone in sales knows that if you lie, it will catch you. The owner of JB must be living in this world that says "it's my company and I did you a favor by hiring you". Well, eventually that catches up to you as well. I constantly see ads for sales reps for this company and wonder why in this economy. Now I know. I had thought seriously about applying for a position there but after reading this, I am determined to continue to look.

May I suggest that this owner start treating his employees better? People will kill themselves for you and be much more productive if you give and make them feel wanted and needed by you, the owner. Salespeople get such a bad rap and it's due to situations like this. Poor ownership.

I'll continue to fish your publication for unhappy clients and happy clients that realize radio and any other form of advertising is a winning combo.

Clean your act up and quit empowering these ex-employees with your rebuttals.
