JD Byrider/CNAC Repossessed our car for not getting the license plates renewed!!! Highland, Indiana

At 1:30 am we heard our car being dragged down the road with screeching tires! We thought the car was stolen so we called 911. They told us it had been repossessed. What? We had never been late with even ONE payment and we were carrying full coverage insurance on our 2005 Dodge Stratus. We couldn't figure out what the heck happened.  When we called them the next day they told us it was repossessed because we needed to get the license plates renewed.

We were dumb-founded. How can this possibly be legal??? It's been two days. They STILL have our car. We have no transportation to pick it up and my husband has had to miss work and lose two days pay because of this little "mishap". They apologized (which tells me they KNOW they messed up!) and told us to get the license and they wouldn't charge us the repossession costs (Which again tells me they knew they were screwed).

But the fact remains that we are still here without transportation because of their incredible lack of good, common sense; and it's gonna cost them! We've already gotten some encouraging news from our lawyer who is amazed that they even did this or that it would even happen. You'd think they'd be more careful since they already have so many lawsuits against them all over the country! My husband & I are quiet and unassuming people and they grossly underestimated us because of this. Now they're gonna have to feel the STING of a ignorant choice on their part!
