J&J Towing - Westway Towing Ripoff disgusting employee Urinates on building across from my condo. Margate Florida

westway towing does not always have signed tickets to there illegally parked cars. Signing a ticket after its been impounded is not legal nor is having someone from the company signing the ticket acting as a manager to the property where the vehicle was towed. I must say westway does sometimes do the right thing and have the tickets signed but id say 75% are not legal. westway towing will also charge you for storage BEFORE 6 hours is up now by law you cannot be charged storage before 6 hours. They will also charge a fuel surcharge for most impounded cars from illegally parked to police impounds. I believe you should look at the city contract and i highly doubt the have written on there that it is ok to charge fuel. Westway will also hold a vehicle that has been in an accident if they believe it can be repaired and from there they will take it to their body shop: ie: making the customer come to our location and sign a release form instead of faxing a notorized letter. Lastly they will charge you for extra time on scene when clearly they were not authorized to do so, so if you ever are so unlucky to deal with westway towing dont let them run all over you find out your facts they should not be aloud to get away with all the illegal acts they do and i highly doubt opertating a tow truck with high on marijuana is perfectly fine.
also keep in mind the help in the office is in no way professional and will talk to you in whatever way they feel and that too you should not let them get away with. Thanks and for those of you sticking up for these companies who run thier business illegally well that says a lot about you too.

Westway towing does NOT get kick backs from anyone. I would like to see proof of this.Your condo DID call westway, (signature on file). Your condo hired us to post our signs to keep UNREGISTERED CARS, derilect cars off YOUR property. Your condo board denies this, only they know why.You were driving an illegal car (not registered for 5 months). As far as towing for the cities, We must bid on them.Then we must recoupe the money thru the service provided. it seems to me that your mad because you did not take care or your affairs (5 months).These rules we set by YOUR board. YOU signed agreeing with these terms.

Yes we towed your car, not hijacked. Yes we stored your car, not held it hostage. There's also a law that says you cannot abandon your car at a tow yard. therefore we must impose a lein to make sure you don't abandon your car.

I too, am a wilma victim. My condo was wiped out, the board gave the contractor 3.5 mil in insurance money and they ran off. I am still paying my mortgage, hoa fee, as well as rent, car payment, and the rest of the bills for the last 3 years. I MUST work, on average, 70 hrs per week.

This is a business. A business needs to make money to run, ie payroll, ins., etc.

You broke the rules, now there are consequences.

This has Homeowner's Association written all over it.

I can guarantee that it was due to the expired tag.

The OP never gave us the reason they towed it.

By law, the OP has a right to see the tow request and who made it, as well as the reason.

The tow can be challenged as an illegal tow. Call your local police and file a complaint against the tow company. They will then have to justify the tow as legal.

What I would do is ask to see the signed ticket and contact that person first..Sometimes the property owners or managers are not on site so they will sign so many at a time. They like to go in look for no tags,flat tires,or just junk cars.But the Manager of the grounds HAS to be on site when a car is towed.Sorry to hear your story.

And as afr as kick backs The caller or signer most likely got something out of it...I have seen them show up after a good sting at the shop.

The towing is done at the town's request, and they are getting a big slice of the money that is collected.They aren't on the take, that's how it's commonly done. The company must obey the contracts as you say they are used by many towns.
The tow company had a reason to tow your car, what was it? Was it legally registered, insured, roadworthy, etc? Was it allowed to be where you left it? It wasn't towed for nothing, and your health and other personal problems are your problems, unrelated to allegedly being ripped off by a tow truck driver.
