I bet they probably did the best they could to help - tried to confirm that the debt is not the result of an error - tried to figure out what your options are for a settlement.... But if what you expect is that you just pay them and somehow they magically make the IRS forget all about you...

POSTED: Wednesday, March 31, 2010Most of these Tax Payer Intervention companies who deal with the IRS give their customers the impression that if you owe thousands to the IRS they can get you off the hook.
I know for a fact that they are not always successful. If the IRS knows you still have assets that can be sold to recover most of the money, they will seize those assets, and when you have nothing else left, then they will allow these Tax Payer Intervention Companies to come in and play lets make a deal.
First I have a question, why did you owe 33,000 to the IRS to begin with? Did you really think that as long as you have assets to sell, and have a paycheck that the IRS was going to settle with you for 2000, or so dollars????? Fat Chance. They are going to take every thing you own, and then when they have it all, then they will bargin with you.
Just take your lumps, and pay your taxes.
