To the first person on this report of a customer Sasha. The reason they asked you to right the check out to joe because the business is in his name and he is using a personnel account instead of a business account through there bank. In addition, the Florida state law states that working under a classification of a handyman he doesn't have to carry a license but must pay the taxes to be able to work in the duvall county and to pay taxes at the beaches to work out there. He can have no more than 10 employees or he has to change he's business by tax coes and will have to carry insurance or workman's compensation. The website that you went to is a lead base company. He has to pay for the leads even if he doesn't get the job. I worked for him and he was suppose to pay me a percentage of a 60-40 split. He would not show me the invoices and plus he was suppose to give me a 10% on all deals closed by me. In addition, he was suppose to give me a 5% comp. on all jobs that he closed. He would not put it in writing and when I typed up the agreement he would not sign it. The company is not in Ken McCormick. The company is in Joe Minano; this is because if anything happens it will not come back on him it will go to Joe and he does not know or doesn't have the money to pay back the customer or employees that he has ripped off. He owes me about 1500 to 2000 dollars that he shorted me on. If I was you I would not let them do any work for me and would ask for the money back. I would contact Joe Senna (Hire a Handyman) the number is 904-221-3453 He is licensed and insured. The reasoning off this is because I worked for him after I worked For Joe (Ken McCormick) and he is a great guy and will do a great job for you. I forgot if he wrote out a contract with you and gave you a date of when he will start and doesn't then you can ask for the money back because of breaking the contract agreement. In addition, Check with other contractors to make sure they are not over charging you to much.
This is for the guy that is working for him. I would try your best to collect your money. Afterward, I would find another job. You should contact Joe Senna and see if he has an opening. He started me out at 14.00 a hour. At first, Ididn't get full weeks at first then I averaged about 30 hours a week. Read the first part of the post and it might help you on this matter. In addition, If he has not paid he's taxes to work in the area and you allow him to do work or you do work for him you can be fined and can loose you chance of being able to do sub-contract work. You can pick up your own liability insurance. You can get on-line and make up your own business name and submit it which it isn't cheap and then pay taxes for duvall county and at the beaches. In addition, Look online to get liability insurance of 300,000.00 for about 70.00. The total cost might cost you about 300.00 to become your own business. Then after you do that you can open a business account a your bank. They will give you different types to choose from. If you need to contact me you can by my e-mail of stevetingle69@yahoo.com.
I wish you'll the best on this matter.
