I have to agree...why on Gods earth would you not file five years worth of returns and think nothing was going to happen?? My entire family and I have been going to P&M Accounting for years and we have never had ANY problems with them. Then again we file our returns each and every year like we are supposed to. I would highly recommend P&M Accounting to anyone. Good luck but it really seems like you need to place the blame on yourself rather then someone else.

Primarily...none of these tax returns were filed by Jackson/ Hewitt or P & M Accounting, LLC. Your returns were filed by M & P Accounting located in Matamoras, PA. Secondary...when you come to file returns in the year 2008, one would assume that you are filing the current year 2007 taxes. However, you came in to this office to file returns from 2002-2007. What would IRS do when they received ANY of these returns. Immediately assess failure to file penalties and other penalties for failure to pay taxes on time. None of that is the fault of the preparer. Third, it is up to you to ask for references upon having your taxes prepared. Nothing was presented to you to be under the assumption that the gentleman had more experience than he did. Also, the IRS did not say they did not receive your returns, they said they were still processing the only one of those returns that was due a refund to you. (How unlike the IRS-not really) And when you did contact the main office headquarters of the company, the manager of M & P Accounting, plus a customer service rep. plus the General Manager all dropped EVERYTHING they were doing in February right in the bulk of tax season to help resolve this issue. We gave numbers for the taxpayers advocate as well as called IRS on your behalf to stop the levy on the income and filed Power of Attorney for you to handle your problems while you could not continually drive to NY. When we finally got the responses back from Internal Revenue, messages were left for you which you did not respond to...several times. What are we to do? He is a human and he ill advised you to send the current year in first. Understandable. But you can not blame him for your failure to file FIVE YEARS of PAST DUE TAXES as if the IRS would not find out. Ask yourself...what would the IRS do?
