James Madison High School, Professional Career Development ripoff. Would not let me take the course for james madison high school because I have a learning disability. YORK Internet

I graduated from JM a couple of years ago and found the study very useful. It is distressing to hear that they refused someone because of a disability. All I can say to the writer from Pennsylvania is that if you are getting the diploma to attend college, you should investigate (((competitor's name redacted))); they DO NOT require a high school GED or diploma beause their course of study is based on competency and not grade averages. There courses are all accredited and done on line at your own pace. I am graduating with a BSc in a couple of months!

sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company, ..plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! - - your comments on this policy are welcome. It is about liability. In a traditional high school, LD students are protected by IEPs (documents that state specific modifications that a teacher must make). In the online format and possibly correspondence courses, modifications are hard to enact. There is no LD teacher to help the graders/teachers when the work is submitted. That is likely your reason.

Hmmmm..? Maybe it is.

I just want to know that I work for this company. And I do believe also that it is wrong for them not to let the LD students have a chance.


This program is a rip off, but unless you have a LD you wouldn't know it!

Distant learning may not be a good idea for the LD student. They may need a more interactive education. Distant learning is difficult at times even for the person with no disability...

Students with special educational needs, and students who have previously taken special education courses, are NOT eligible to attend James Madison High School. However, students who have been placed in special education for nonacademic reasons (such as health or behavioral issues), will be considered upon submission of appropriate documentation (such as IEP or exam results). James Madison High School reserves the right to cancel from our program any student with special educational needs."
