At approx. 4pm, 6/18/13, MY PARENTS, Herb & Gladys, ages 85 & 84, were solicited by one Jerry E. Young, aka Johnny R. Young, of JERRY'S CONSTRUCTION, aka ASPHALT CONSTRUCTION to "lay" left-over asphalt @ the base of their limestone drive. A 12" x 9' area (12 sq. yds. @ 3" thick) was agreed to "go ahead w/" @ $36 per sq. yd. ($432); 2.5 hr.s later, Mr. Young presented a bill for $5,700, having proceeeded w/ "laying" approx. 162 sq. yrd.s. A heated negotiation followed, resulting in my Father issueing a $3500 ck. to Mr. Young in compromise (that Young "hammered" yet that eve. @ Dad's bank)
Dad immediately fell somewhat ill (as he & Mother live on approx. $24k per yr.), not eating or sleeping that eve., or the entire next day, 6/19/13. He slept somewhat Wed. eve., & regained his appetite by thurs. morn., actually getting out to do some minor chores around his place Thurs.. Early Fri. eve., 6/21, he passed out / fell from his arm-chair, but regained consciousness just as EMT's were arriving. He was Rushed to Affinity Hosp. where fluids & drugs were able to bring his blood-preassure back-up to an acceptable level. His systems degenerated however, over the course of Sat, and Dad died early Sun. morn..\
I hold Jerry E. Young, Johnny R. Young Jr., JERRY'S CONSTRUCTION, & ASPHALT CONSTRUCTION culpable in my Father's death. Please help me get these cretan's off the St.

I've also contacted the Ohio Attorney General's Off., sending them a copy of the bal. of REFUND ck. received yesterday; as well as updating the Akron BBB accordingly.

MUCH TO MY SURPRISE, I arrived home today to find the bal. of the REFUND ($1,500, having already received $2,000 in early Aug.) for aspahlt laid @ my parents home in Canal Fulton 6/18/2013, for $3,500, fulfilling THE YOUNG'S "promise" to REFUND all monies Pd.. I can only wish that they somehow "change" the way they do business.

8/1/13: received a call from one Caroline Young, supposed wife of Jerry E. Young (owner of JERRY'S CONSTRUCTION) from a "restricted" PH. #, offering to REFUND the $3,500 pd. them for the asphalt laid @ my parents home 6/18/13. She also requested that I "distance / separate" her husband Jerry, JERRY'S CONSTRUCTION, JRY CONSTRUCTION from Johnny Young (a supposed nephew of theirs), & his firm, ASPHALT CONSTRUCTION, which perpetrated a similar "bait & switch" earlier the afternoon of 6/18/13, just a mile+ east of Mom & Dad's. Asphalt laid was by the same crew, w/ the same equip. @ both locations; only a different business name was utilized on the hand-bill presented for payment. Ph. converstions w/ Akron BBB reinforced BBB's intent to keep ALL aka's together.
"Mrs. Young" also found it unfair to include "their' culpability in my Father's passing, as well as "why didn't your Dad just put a STOP-PAYMENT on the ck.?" I was only informed of "what had transpired" (& what could have been done) when I arrived in Fulton 6/23/13, just hr.s after Dad had passed.
8/6/13: I received a partial refund of $2,000, in certified funds, w/ a hand notation on the ckeck of "I owe you back $1,500"
As of today's date, 9/10/13, I still awaite the bal..
