Jersey Mike's Subs Bug Sub Mauldin South Carolina

On Tuesday, September 18 at around 6 pm I took my two kids to Jersey Mike's Subs for a quick supper after we had been shopping at another store in the shopping complex where Jersey Mike's is. My younger child had a ham and cheese sub combo, ($6.34) my older child had a Supreme Club combo, ($10.70 and I ordered an Original Italian combo, ($7.70).

The kids dug right in but as usual I opened my sandwich to add more salt and pepper. To my horror I saw a very large roach partially covered by a piece of cheese! I was shocked and I gasped and screamed slightly, getting the immediate attention of the people working there as well as other patrons. I carried the sandwich in it's paper back to the counter. Before I could say anything to the workers it occured to me that my children were eacting theirs. I turned and spoke to them from across the room to stop eating and not to touch their sandwiches again.

I showed the horrible site to the workers who looked astonished but said nothing. (They are middle-eastern and I believe there may have been a language barrier.) The workers asked if I just wasnted another sandwich! I, of course said emphatically no! I said I would like to have my money back for the entire order.

Someone went to the back and got the manager who as it turns out is the owner. He came out and asked me in a very abrubt tone " Yes, what is the problem?" To which I replied, "The roach in my sandwich is the problem." I told him I do not wich to have another sandwich. I want my money returned for the entire order.

I could not believe what happened after that. He said no, that they don't give money back. That if a patron is not satisfied with something they can give them something different!

I admit, I became angry. I asked him why I would want to eat anything from there if they are this unsanitary. I said I want a refund. We argued back and forth for a minute, I asked who the owner was which is when he told me he is. Then to my astonishment he actually said that they don't have roaches and accused me of bringing the roach from my home with me and placing it inside my sandwich!

Realizing at that point that I was dealing with a crazy person I took my children and left the restaurant. Some other patrons who were there left without finishing their food or ordering as well. As I walked out the door the manager and two of his employees followed me and my children out into the parking lot and yelled at us never to come back! I felt like I was in the twilight zone ... or Iraq or Iran or someplace.

I'm so insenced and wonder what I can do about this.
