What Does Non-Refundable Mean?
AUTHOR: Karl - (U.S.A.)

I wonder why you didn't use Southwest which DOESN'T charge cancellation fees. The entire price of the non-refundable ticket is yours to apply to the next trip if completed within a year of the time you purchased your first ticket. If you like cancellation and change fees travel on all the major airlines EXCEPT Southwest. If you purchase a non-refundable ticket from anybody including Southwest you do NOT get your money back. It is essentially in an escrow account for your use under the original routing number. On Southwest, however, it is not reduced by a $100 change or cancellation fee. This is what Jet Blue meant when they told you that your money was in an "account". If you purchased a fully refundable ticket, though, you should have gotten a refund. Fully refundable tickets cost more than non-refundable ones.
