Later, at the dealer for another service under warranty, the mechanic told me the Honda DOES have a fuel filter, in the fuel tank, designed to last the life of the car. Also, that although these fuel system cleaners are not necessarily BAD, I was sold the service under totally false pretenses.
Now, I don't mid paying for reasonably required or recommended service, but I was OUTRIGHT LIED TO, and that really makes me angry. Since Justin took the opportunity to lie to a NEW customer, I will no longer patronize this Jiffy Lube, and will warn all my friends and co-workers to stay away as well.

So if it is like you say and they just didn't know, and believe me I'm reasonably sure they didn't or was just guessing, why would they suggest cleaning out the fuel system? What does that entail?Take off the gas tank and wash it out, unhook the fuel lines at both ends and blow them out?I've never heard of anyone going to this much trouble untill there are major fuel issues. So why did Justin suggest a remedy when there was no problem?I think that even if he didn't actually know, because he would know that he don't know, makes it a total lie. So yes, they where lied to.
Not knowing your job is not a defense,or a very good excuse for that matter.
- Don't be so sure about that. It may have just as likely been a lack of knowledge than an outright lie.
To put it nicely, the "mechanics" that work at these places are often not the best experts on cars. So it is likely that they actually had no idea that the Fuel Filter was in the Fuel tank, and since they didn't see one they just told you it didn't have one.

But if it had been me,I would have said yeah you can fix it when it breaks and went on my merry way.
Always remember,as long as the car is running you can go to who ever you want.
Good luck in the future and God Bless.
