Well we weren't really planning on buying a new vehicle, but Jim Norton sent us a letter on a Tuesday saying we were "pre approved" so we decided to go check it out, even though it's about an hour drive.  Well they didn't really have anything we wanted at the Lawton lot, but they found a 2010 Tahoe with everything we wanted at their Tulsa dealership. We filled out the credit app, but they said we couldn't get approved for that much ($30,000). So disappointed we drove an hour back home. About 15 minutes later we got a call saying we did get approved, and to go ahead, and come back up there Wednesday to do the paper work.

We drove an hour back up there and printed out check stubs, bank statements ect. They said they had everything we just needed to sign the papers, and give them the down payment Friday after we saw the vehicle. They were supposed to call us Friday when the Tahoe got to the dealership. We waited all day Friday. They never called. We called them that evening. They said well you have to bring us the check for the down payment before they will ship it down here and we need you to print another copy of your bank statement we can't find the one you gave us Wednesday. So we drove BACK up there with the check, printed the SECOND copy of our bank statement. They said they might have the Tahoe there later that evening or at the latest Monday morning. Again they'll call us when it gets there. Monday they don't call. We call them, and they don't know where it is, but it should be there in the morning. Tuesday they don't call. We call them, They don't know where it is, but it should be there in the morning. Wednesday they don't call. We finally call them, and it's on the way it should be there when we get there. We just need to bring a copy of our insurance.

Well we finally see our truck for the first time a week after we did our first paperwork. It looks great. We give them a copy of our insurance. He says that's it here's the keys your welcome packet, and coupon book will be in the mail in a couple days. We drove another hour back home. I realize I didn't get ANY paper work. I call as soon as I get home. The sales man says it'll be in the mail. Well I can't get insurance, inspection, or registration without it.

Well it never came. We waited almost a week. They called us, and said they lost the copy of our insurance, and asked if I could fax them a copy. I faxed it the next day. While they were on the phone I told them I was driving the vehicle illegally, and still needed a copy of our paperwork. He said I should have gotten it, but he's emailing his manager right now as we speak. Another week goes by, and I get a call from the finance company. They said they still hadn't gotten a copy of my bank statement. I call the dealership, and they said that's all they needed. So I faxed a THIRD copy to them, and of course asked about my paper work. Ohh they said we will 2nd day Fed-Ex it to me. I've now been driving illegally for 3 weeks, and my temp dealer tags are about to expire.

Now it's the day before my dealer tags expire. A full month of driving without insurance, inspection, or registration. They leave me a message. "We need you to bring ANOTHER copy of your bank statement up here." that would be the FOURTH bank statement for those of you counting. They said that was all the finance company needed to fund them. SO I went up there in the morning.

I told them I wasn't giving them ANOTHER copy of my bank statement, and I wanted to know where the other copies went. They said they didn't know. I told them my first payment was due, I still wasn't funded by the finance company here's your keys there's your truck. There is no way I'm doing business you I just want my down payment back. They said there is no way for me to get it back. I had the truck I had to keep it. I told them fine I'll keep it, but I'm not giving you one more single copy of anything. Well they begged, and pleaded with me. Finally they said FINE, but there will be a charge for cleaning the truck, miles driven, and a restocking fee. I asked how much. He said a grand. I said "Fine it's worth a thousand dollars to not have to do business with you." I don't know maybe that was part of our agreement I don't remember reading anything like that, but since I never got a copy I guess I'll never know. Still it was worth every penny to get away from them.

So to wrap it all up They NEVER gave us a copy of our paperwork so we drove without insurance, inspection, or registration for a month. They lost THREE copies of our bank statements. They lost one copy of our auto insurance. Then they charged us a $1000.00 to wash the truck, and put it back on the lot where we put it to begin with ! ! !
