I was looking for a puppy for my kids and got an email from JimmyJohnsonPets@yahoo.com saying he had a puppy that he was giving away. He said that he would get it to me using DDPD Pet Delivery Agency. He then asked for the fee of $280 so that he could set up delivery of the puppy. Name,address,telephone etc. I then asked for the address for that company so I could look it up and when I told him that I couldn't find a listing of that company he says" I mean" Petmovers.int. I told him that I couldnt find that one either and proceeded to tell him that I was not a dummy and to go scam someone else and he said "what you think scams happen in the US" I said as a matter of fact they do. He said not to email him back but he has been emailing me. I told him I was reporting him to the proper authorities.

YOU CAN'T EXPECT TO ORDER SOMEONE WHO IS GOING TO BE SUCH AN IMPORTANT PART OF YOUR FAMILY AS A DOG ON THE INTERNET.
YOU WILL GET RIPPED OFF.
I THOUGHT EVERYBODY KNEW ABOUT THIS SCAM.
YOU NEED TO GO TO YOUR LOCAL ANIMAL SHELTER AND THAT WAY YOU WILL SAVE A LIFE AND ACTUALLY SEE THAT THE PUPPY EXISTS ( BECAUSE THE ONES ON THE INTERNET DO NOT OR IT IS SOME UNSCRUPULOUS BREEDER ATTEMPTED TO SEND OUT THEIR "MISTAKES' OR AN INBRED, UNHEALTHY ANIMAL FROM A 'PUPPY MILL.") I GOT THREE AMAZING BOXERS FROM THE SHELTER AND TWO CHIHUAHUAS WHO WERE ON "DEATH ROW" AT THE SHELTER. ALL WONDERFUL, PRECIOUS , PUREBRED AND BEAUTIFUL DOGS WHOSE OWNERS WENT INTO FORECLOSURE AND JUST COULD NOT AFFORD TO TAKE THEM WITH THEM TO THE HOMELESS SHELTER OR WHEREVER THEY WENT...
HOW DID THESE CROOKS FIND OUT THAT YOU WERE EVEN LOOKING FOR A PUPPY ANYWAY?
IF YOU POST ANYTHING ON CRAIGSLIST OR ANYPLACE ELSE, YOU ARE INVITING THE SCAMMERS TO CONTACT YOU.
DON'T DO IT.
THE NIGERIAN PET ADOPTION SCAM WORKS LIKE THIS:
A NIGERIAN WILL FIND YOUR POSTING ON CRAIGLIST OR ELSEWHERE OR THEY WILL JUST E-MAIL YOU RANDOMLY AND TELL YOU ABOUT THIS WONDERFUL PUPPY AND SEND YOU A PHOTO THAT THEY HAVE LIFTED FROM SOME WEBSITE OF AN ADORABLE PUPPY. THEY WILL TELL YOU IT IS AVAILABLE FOR SO MUCH MONEY AND THEY WILL SEND IT BUT THERE IS ALWAYS A REASON THEY CAN'T AND THAT REASON IS USUALLY ASKING YOU FOR MONEY. THE SCHEME STOPS WHEN YOU FIGURE OUT THAT IT IS A SCAM AND YOU STOP SENDING THE MONEY.
THE NIGERIANS HAVE ALSO SET UP A WEBSITE MARKETING PUPPIES BUT IT IS A SCAM.
THERE ARE SO MANY SCAMS CONCERNING PUPPIES ONLINE, I CAN'T LIST THEM ALL HERE.
NEVER BUY A PUPPY UNLESS YOU CAN SEE THE PARENTS AND THE PLACE WHERE IT WAS RAISED.
UNLESS YOU GET A DOG FROM A SHELTER!
YOUR KIDS WILL LEARN THE VALUES OF COMPASSION, RESPECT OF LIFE, ECONOMY, LEARNING NOT TO FALL FOR SCAMS BUT TO EXAMINE THE MERCHANDISE IN PERSON AND CRITICAL THINKING.
AN D THEY SHOULD GET A GREAT PET!
