Dr. Michael Sarr will cut anything out, with or without consent - and that is WRONG. Until Jill Beed-Smith fixes this, patients are warned not to go near Mayo Clinic - she needs to authorize the undoing of all procedures where there was no patient consent - she has the list.
No one will believe the Medical Service, until the Department of Surgery stops the unnecessary neurectomies and the closing with common mass mutilations - this has been going on for 20 years at least. These are surgeries done even on women MDs who say 'No,' and only agree to limited 5-minute procedures to the muscle fascia - to remove any retained sutures - a 5-minute quick-look for an attending that yields hundreds of dollars with no risk. The nerve foramen can be palpated without surgery, or during surgery, and should not be cut into. But the Surgical Department at Mayo does - cut into and remove 'normal' nerves - pretending they are foreign bodies. Dr. Michael Sarr can't tell an internal oblique from a transversus - in women the transversus are too thin for him - so he cuts them.
Dr. Sarr, and Mayo Clinic, need to undo all the unnecessary neurectomies where the Surgery attending would not do a Carnett's test. Jill Beed-Smith needs to get a plan for this.
In the meantime 2012, no patient should go to Mayo Clinic for abdominal wall nerve pains unless they want horrible surgeries by 3-month interns that ATTACK when told not to be in the room, not to touch an instrument, and not to touch the patient. Black medical students should not be assaulting white women patients who just stipulate 'NO MEDICAL STUDENTS.' It's not a black thing, it is that patients come to Mayo for the attending and many times are so sick that they can't be touched by any more medical students. The medical students should be working at the community hospitals & clinics - not the major hospitals & offices. They should be documenting the exams on the chart.
Women MDs have to be able to say 'NO INTERNS, RESIDENTS, STUDENTS, FELLOWS, or sham workups.' Carnett's test is not used by the Surgical Service and your case studies and clinical pearls are a piles of lies - lies that look good on paper but aren't the care that even a woman MD gets.

Search TipsSeriously Rita, if you think you were butchered why not file a malpractice suit? Probably can't find anyone to agree with you. In the 2008 report you even said your friend (a pediatric surgeon) wouldn't stand up for you. Doesn't that tell you something????
I also find it mildly amusing that you were distraught over not having your parents consulted on this surgery (which was prior to 2008). You were in your 40's at that time, and supposedly an adult. Why are you whining for mommy and daddy?

It's not a problem that women patients cause. False-positive Carnett maneuvers occur infrequently (<5%or so). Dr. Sarr and other male surgeons, will not do Carnett's tests - they just operate and take out the nerves. They don't use 2% lidocaine, because they want the money - even if no one else at Mayo Clinic will dare to bill, Dr. Sarr will bill.
Dr. Sarr has been reported to the State Medical Board of MN for doing this. Dr. Sarr admits that he does procedures without consent, without discussion on women patients - guys would just punch him - procedures that the Mayo Clinic cannot bill for. Dr. Sarr, by himself, with his supervisors telling him not to, will remove normal nerves from women's abdomens to bill.
Dr. Bundrick should be reviewing all such cases at Mayo Clinic - but to be part of a Mayo Clinic facility (Rochester) where women get procedures done to them without consent - which have no merit - speaks badly of Dr. Bundrick. Dr. Bundrick writes what to do - what Mayo Clinic tells the world to do - but secretly lets women get butchered for fun, practice & money. Jill Beed-Smith thinks this is funny - the Chief Legal Counsel.
Women patients have requested that Dr. Sarr's procedures without consent, be undone at Mayo Clinic cost. There is no merit to these procedures, the women patient say 'No' to them, and the medical students/residents in the room have always never seen the patient.
The anesthesiologists at Mayo Clinic will put any woman 'out' for Dr. Sarr - with any anesthesia that he wants - regardless of consult, or that the woman said 'No.' This is also wrong.
If the reviewer would like to get some abdominal nerves removed for 'free,' he/she should go to Mayo Clinic. Dr. Sarr will do this procedure, with the worst resident help (because good residents would not do this), and then his over-seers will not bill, but he will try to.
Free neurectomies, reviewers that say this is ok, should make an appointment with Dr. Michael Sarr. He will remove every sensory nerve of your abdominal wall for practice. The Medical Board of Minnesota will say nothing - Dr. Sarr is very good at this butchery.

I'm also wondering if any of the people she's slandered here have ever filed suit against her...? They sure would have a strong case since she's stupid enough to put it in writing in a permanent record, especially Governor Kasich.
