I recently listed my pet in the northern NJ version of craigslist up for a free adoption to a good home. After a few different people came by I met John & Lisa Bedard from Hammonton, NJ they came to my home with ther small child and stated they would provide a safe loving home for my dog. Since they lived more than 2 hours away I agreed that if they liked him and he like them they could take him home that same day - but that we would stay in touch until I moved so I could see how he was doing. They came by on a saturday about 6pm and stayed until about 8pm and took him home. I emailed them after they left to say good luck and call me if they have any questions about him and let me know how he does. They replyed that night about 10pm and said all went fine and he was good. They next morning I emailed them again to follow up on thier 1st night with him, again they replied all was good.

Then about 4pm that day I get a call from a woman who adopted my dog from they for a 100.00 fee and met them at a local walmart parking lot. She felt something was not right about the couple and said she would not take the dog and pay 100.00 with out papers they reluctanly gave her the papers ( that i had gave them for him) and left. When she got home he was urinating blood sop she looked therough the papers and found the vet bill and noticed the owners name crossed out she was able to hold it up to the light and got my phone number and called me to question if the dog was mine at one point. They told her he was 4 yrs old when in fact he was 8 yrs old and they said they had him his whole life...

When we put thier number into craigslist to find the posting he listed my do the same night he picked him up from my home and he listed it under craigslist south jersey. After looking futher we found other dogs up for adoption by john and lisa with a 100.00 adoption fee - this is a un-humane scam.

My world was shattered when I found out that I was completely fooled by these people, when I think about it and the harm that could have been done to my dog I just fall apart. I have never been more hurt and can not belive these people can sleep at night with what they are doing to loving animals. I want everyone to know what they have done and I will not rest until they are held accountable for thier actions. I have reported them to Craigslist and NJ ASPCA.
