I was hired by JRP Atlanta on October 9, 2008 for a job in Oklahoma City to do hair and makeup for a variety of clients.
The job was Oct. 10 and 11th. It was only supposed to be a regular work day- which turned out to be 12 hour days - with no breaks - and ALOT of work. 20 people with 4 looks each on day one, and 16 people with 4 looks on day 2. All hair and makeup - with no assistance.
I was told that I would be paid that week and that a check would be mailed to me the week of Oct. 11th. I took the job based on that agreement.
I have yet to receive payment, the owner Dale Howell will not return any of my phone calls. The people at the Atlanta JRP office have been NO help at all. Yesterday I was told they mailed it weeks ago. Everything with this company has been nothing of what they said.
Its now been 6 weeks and I have yet to be paid for an overworked job that I did for them.
My main complaint is that I can't get any info regarding my payment.

Ok this is ridiculous. NOT ALL JOHN ROBERT POWERS ARE THE SAME. Get it through your heads. For example JRP Bloomington has one of the best reputations. I have been there for 6 months and the owner and vice president are two of the most reliable and trust worthy women I know. My parents love the way they run Minnesota's JRP and so do I. It's like a big family. So sorry uhmmm....Salvador but they're NOT all the same. So stop spreading crap about them all being the same, okay? Thanks.

I used to work for the JRP Reno.. and I tell ya.. they're all the same. Late on checks (except in your case- no check at all), steal peoples' bonuses, and oh yes.. there's the "client" credits they also like to steal.
I was working for them in the promotional department. Checks were always late, "not sufficient funds", and the Director of Operations was always taking my client credits.
These people are nothing but greedy individuals. Their main goal in there is "sales". That's all they say and that's all they call it when they make new students. Yeah.. they actually lack that much professionalism.. that they called their students.. in their faces... "sales"!
Hell.. even after I quit working for them.. they knew they were going to get shutdown. And yet.. they still kept making "sales" .. leaving many people with unfulfilled contracts.
So all I can say to you now.. is that if you have any witnesses or any sort of proof that they contracted you to do this make-up work... get it together and send them to court. But I tell ya.. they're all the same!
