Judge Chuck Hoskin helped Jared Shafer steal my father’s social security checks. Jared Shafer was appointed guardian for dad after he lost his hearing and short term memory. I wasn’t a resident of Nevada, which resulted in Commissioner Norheim refusing to allow me to take father back to Salt Lake City. Jared Shafer took over $500,000 from dad’s estate in so-called guardian fees over a period of 2 years. Judge Chuck Hoskin ruled the fees were reasonable and in a mocking voice told my attorney to go to the Nevada Supreme Court. The federal rip-off occurred after my father’s death in May of 2010. I learned in December Shafer had never reported father’s death to the Social Security administration. Shafer cashed dad’s June, July, August, September, October, November Social Security checks and placed them into his personal account. JaredShafer reported dad’s death to the Social Security Administration in December of 2010 and billed the estate for all of the checks Jared Shafer had cashed. Judge Chuck Hoskin ruled on February 15, 2011 this was not unreasonable and stated our allegations are considered as harassment against Mr. Shafer. Judge Hoskin said "guardians need to have this leeway in order to make a living." I learned directly from the FBI the Bureau had conducted an investigation of Jared Shafer and the Public guardian office of Clark County in 1983. Jared Shafer’s lawyer at the time was able to pass the blame over to subordinates who were dismissed. The matter was quietly swept under the carpet. Unfortunately the practice of cashing dead people’s Social Security checks continues up to this day. A former employee of judge Hoskin informed me Nevada has a dirty little secret. The family court is a closed group. He learned this fact by viewing documents and e-mails over the last five years. In fact I was told of a Christmas party held at the Sun coast Hotel in North Las Vegas. Attendees included Jared Shafer, Patience Bristol, Commissioner John Norheim, Judge Chuck Hoskin, Julie Arnold of the Senior Citizen’s Law project, Alan Freer an attorney representing Shafer, the mayor of Las Vegas, members of the Razillo family, and a large list of Clark county officials. Jokes were told about how much money the group had billed families over the years. Videos of this party have been sent to the Department of justice, FBI, Social Security and IRS.
