I took my 2003 Jeep Wrangler into Just Brakes for the 99.00$ reline deal(I think its a joke now)and was told it would be a couple of hours so I left it with them.Later they called and that 99.00$ deal would cost me over 400.00$ now because it needed more work.Well I needed it done so I agreed with them and picked it up later.Looking over the bill I could see the markup on the replacement parts were almost 500%.To give you an example their 39.95$ disc hardware can be bought at any auto store for about 6.00$.Well I know I was ripped and not to ever go their again.I later had a total brake failure resorting in an accident with repairs totaling over 2000.00$ because they failed to put a 50cent part on correctly.People please avoid this company at all cost.

to the street Jeff (From Venice) Why don't you just make up a sign and stand out on the street infront of Just Brakes? First, you might want to plan out very carefully what you write, so it actually makes sense. You don't want people to have to read it 12 times before they finally understand what you are saying. Then park your butt out front and make your point.
It sounds like they try to sell stuff that doesn't need to be sold, they wait until your vehicle is already apart to hit you with the price, etc. That all sounds dishonest, but that is how they make money. You say you can get the parts (as a green pea I know) for less, and the labor for less. You are forgeting that they are a big company, have a lot of overhead, advertising and they can't make the level of profit they need at that price. They CANNOT do it for 99 dollars and that is a fact. Of the few people who do get out of there for 99 dollars (no one has heard of ANYONE that has) they lose money on that.
The Price Leader method is common in all businesses, they advertise a few things real cheap that they will lose money on, to get you in the door, hoping they will sell enough other stuff to make it profitable.
Their method, bait and switch, is just illegal, in just about every state that I know of. They aren't going to lose money on the brake job advertise, they are going to sell unnecessary parts to make up for it.
If you are so upset, file a complaint for bait and switch tactics with your state. Then park your butt on the sidewalk with your sign stating the facts.
They tried to tell me unnecessary work needed to be done!
They tried to pull a bait and switch on me!
They wouldn't give me the advertised special!
I got a better job and better deal at ________!

Stick to the facts, leave your rambling out of it, and it would be more effective.

The 50cent part that I had mentioned in report earlier was a retaining pin and cap that holds the brake shoe to the wheel.Just brakes manager didn't even won't to see them just said that parts fail all the time.I have the parts and you can see they did not fail, just not installed correctly.And yes I filed a complaint with the BBB and if that goes nowhere theirs always small claims court.

A) WHAT YOU WILL GET IS PARTS THAT ARE MARKED UP 400-500% FROM WHAT YOU CAN BUT THEM FOR AS A GREEN PEA WALKING IN OFF THE STREET ! ( NOT WHAT A BRAKE STORE ORDERING THOUSANDS OF BRAKES BUYS THEM AT ) ! JUST A NORMAL PERSON WALKING IN TO A PARTS STORE ! B) YOU WILL BE ASKED TO COME OUT TO YOUR CAR ( AFTER THEY HAVE IT APART ) AND BE SHOWN ALL THESE PROBLEMS ( THAT YOU REALLY HAVE NOT NOTICED OR HAD ANY RECOGNIZED PROBLEMS WITH NEED TO BE TAKEN CARE OF ! Since you have absolute "proof", I'm sure you will be filing charges of theft as well as to recoup the alleged $2000 damage from the accident "they" allegedly caused.
I'm sure you wouldn't make these serious accusations with no intention of at least going to small claims court or firing off a letter to the AG of your state.
People like you are tools. EVERY business charges over what they pay in cost. That's hjow the bills get paid. Especially. as RObert told you before, how you get a paycheck from your place of employment. It's called "free enterprise". It's how a capitalistic society operates. Since you are so adept at this field of work, why are you not doing your brakes yourself?
