I am a now former employee of KB Promotions. Some of you may be woundering why I am no longer employed by the company, well, I just got fired for not having transportation to and from work today. There are other reports out there regarding this company, but let me first clear a few things up. First, there is NO tigger/pooh doll that has to be taken out on break with you. And yes, they do play with their workers checks.
I was employeed with the company for 3 wks. and wound up suffering a heart attack at the job that laid me up in the hosp. for 3 days, then was told by Kady, whom is the HR manager, that I could take the rest of the wk off for medical leave. Now, on the day that I'm due back to the office, (Labor Day), I have no transportation back to my home after my shift, yet am being told that if I didn't show up for work today regardless of the fact that I would be stranded over 20 miles from my home, that I would no longer have a job. The one that told me this is named Joe. He is one of the main managers there and thinks that just because he has some position, that he can treat everyone like they are lesser than he is.
This company scams multiple ppl into buying a "free" cruise to the grand Bahamas. THE CRUISE IS NOT FREE!!!! Plus, if you look up the room that they say that they are going to give you (a private inside state room), you will notice that the so called room has no windows and that it will only accomadate 2 ppl instead of the 4 that they say that you can bring with you. You would have to pay for another room. The timeshare that they say that you will have to attend, and that will only take "part of your mourning or part of your afternoon" lasts 90 mins. and you are hounded by reps that care nothing about you.
Some of the ppl that we take calls from are ppl that are calling in for their LIFE ALERT pendants!!! Not to mention that some of the calls that we get are ppl calling FEDERAL AGENCIES, and we are intersepting these calls. It does not matter if you are 18 or 90, we are told to pull the credit card info.
The company is currently under investagation by the FEDS and are about to be raided by them.
DO NOT GIVE YOUR CREDIT CARD/DEBIT CARD INFO TO THEM IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE SCAMMED!!!!!
Some of you may be woundering if I already knew of all of this, then why did I take the job with this company. Well, the DVA is the one that assisted me in getting this "job".
When you first start the job, they make you sign a contract saying that if you get hurt on the job that you cannot collect workmans comp, and if you are fired that you cannot collect unemployment from the company. That is a violation of federal law. Not only that, but as they have you listed as an independant contractor (1099 status) they cannot assign you set hours to work. Yet, my shift that I was on was 3pm - 9pm....Those are set hours. The company is open 24/7, even though state law says that if you are a telemarketer, you cannot call anyone after 9pm. The way that they are getting away with this is that technically we are not calling you, but you are calling us. We are just intercepting your calls to other numbers.
They promise you $9.00/hr, but if you read the fine print of the contract that they force you to sign as a condition of employment, you'll notice that there is a clause that says that after the 2nd wk., they will reduce your pay by $2.00....Add that to the $20.00/wk RENT that they charge you for use of their booth, and that is BELOW MINIMUM WAGE!!!
The time to take action against them is now....If one or more of your calls are intercepted by them, CALL THE FEDS AND REPORT THEM!!!!
