Ken Hughes is a well known alias for a collector at a collection agency called Merchant's Credit Guide Co., commonly referred to as MCG.
They are not only debt collectors and all around lowlife, they are also JUNK DEBT BUYERS. These JDB's purchase VERY old usually past SOL/uncollectable debts for less than a penny on the dollar.
The problem with these old "debts" is that there is little or no information on the actual debtor. So, everyone with the same or similar name gets that same collection letter and/or phone call you got.
They are fishing. Don't bite.
And, FYI. Even if you block your caller id, they still know who is calling. They pay for a computer based service and an outbound 800# that can identify an capture all caller id info from any caller, blocked or not.
