Thats my acronym of KIAs. I am an idvidual that would love to take the KIA dealerships that i had to TOW my car into between engine problem to a seal that keeps blowing out oil all over the place.
I own a 2004 KIA OPTIMA LX. I bought it with the intention of what was sold to me, as follows:
-Patented 10yr/100K warranty
-Old guy drove the car up to Washington and back so it has a lot of highway miles
-100% Customer service satisfaction
-31MPG
-5yr payment plan to own past 100K

End result:
-Found out im the second owner so my warranty is cut in half(never disclosed even on advertisements, i ofund this out in my owners manual).
-The vehicle was a rental car by Enterprise in San Franciso
-Engine failure @39K and KIA customer service saying its my fault.
-NO LOANER/RENTAL car supported from the defect of the car bought from the make.
-They did the cheapest repair on the my first engine failure which caused me to continuesly keep going back to have the same working parts fail between powersteering, crankshaft seal, timing cover with gasket.

I'll tell you a little story. Enigne fails @ 39K, it took them 4 days before they actually looked at and accept it under warranty. After like 12 days, i get a call that it is done. Well after that, engine was VERY loud, power steering high pressure hose snaps right off the pump, engine shakes terribly at higher RPMs.
It turned into a lenghty drawn out process, because KIA doesn't want to accpet responisbilities for products we sell. If they sold LCD TVs and you have a professional install it for you and like 12 months later it stops working, they blame the installer. Quick to point fingers at someone else for the blame, beside themsleves, whom sold me the CAR!

Well guess what, i have about 52K on the car and about 18 months later after the rebuilt of the small block, then engine has failed again. I towed it in to have them take a look at it on 7/24/08 around 11am arizona time and never got a call until i persoanlly called them up today around 4pm arizona time. I talked with the service manager there and he is telling me that they didn't look at the vehicle because there was no oil in the engine. Even though my car is STILL under MANF. WARRANTY, they neglect to look at it because i forgot to put oil in the car? Well i had an oil change about 4K ago in March. I asked the guy a question that is pertain to my problem that they automatically assume its my fault and we are not going to warranty it. The question i asked was this; "Tell me how vehicle that has an engine with about 52K miles able to burn up oil within 4K of the last oil change? I didn't get an answer, just was told we will look at it. Then he told me that he needs records going back 2 years to prove i have been maintaining this car, otherwise they are not going to touch it. Not to mention the fact the the engine failed 18 months ago and they warranty it for only 12mo/12K?? HELLO, MANUFACTURER WARRANTY does not get void when there is actual warranty work pending.

HOW DARE YOU KIA TO SELL A PRODUCT TO A CONSUMER AND ACTUALLY NOT STEP UP AND TAKE RESPONSIBILTY OF A VEHICLE THAT IS NOW A LEMON, AND KNOWING NOW, WAS PROBABLY A LEMON FROM THE BEGINING?

Im not going to turn my back on this. I was told to do it from the first engine problems and the additional problems that followed after that. No it has happen again. Thats poor craftsmanship or poor working parts. Who knows about that, but one thing i know for sure is that they will give you the sky, sun, stars, moon everything! Once there is a problem to there picture perfect car, its automatically the consumers fault, because they don't know hot to drive.

I wanted to write a lot, but most of it was from the last time the egine failed, but keep in mind that this time im not letting KIA get away from this.
I cannot believe you will actually tell your customer that its their fault only from assumption before you actually look at the vehicle to determine the PROBLEM!

WHO THE HELL DOES NOT GIVE A LOANER CAR FOR AN ENGINE FAILURE UNDER WARRANTY?? I saved a lot of lost souls that were thinking of buying a KIA, so they said i will go far xxxxxxxx, SAME DIFFERENCE??
