Kaplan University Kaplan College, Kaplan Online The Worst School in American History Internet

Kaplan has a page on facebook!  Go on there and voice your horror stories!  Others must know of your horror stories and the illegal activities of Kaplan University. I should have known that this school was a rip off from the start.  My admissions counselor was the best, but when she transferred me over to financial aid, there was BIG porblems!  My financial aid counselor could not speak English well, and it seemed as if she didn't understand me at all, or the questions I was asking.  After the call, I immediately called my admissions counselor and she said she'd get right on it and she did.  I got a call from a fin aid suoervisor, who informed me that my fin aid info was "all good".  Then an academic scholarship I recieved was not applied to my account until I had to call halfway through my first semster and request that the monies be applied to my account.  Then, once the scholarship was finally applied, my loan amounts changed.  When I raised a fit, Kaplan put the loan amounts back as they were when I enrolled.  Then I noticed that some of the classes I was scheduled to take I had already taken, so I asked Kaplan for credit for those classes.  I was told that though the classes were the same content-wise, the course levels were different.  I asked was I going to learn any additional information by taking these classes again and was told "no, probably not".  So instead of pressing further about recieving credit, I noticed that there were some courses at Kaplan that really could help me be a better social worker, so I requested a course substitution.  After sending a lengthy email detailing why I wanted the substitution, I was told no because though I have a 4.0 GPA, HONORS classes were not part of the curriculum.  I told my adviser that I would need to transfer to another school at the end of the semester and was told "well since you don't have that long to go, you can just take these couple of classes and be done with it".  I told him that there was no way I was going to pay back a loan for classes in which I was not learning anything.
This "school" has been nothing but a nightmare from day one!  And then to make matters worst, the webinars are a joke, and make me feel like I'm back in Jr. High.  Not only are the courses not challenging, but you are basically just memorizing a bunch of crap from a book and writing "papers" (no tests or exams).  And then you are paying a bunch of money to basically teach yourself!  I really wish I had done my homework with this.  And whats worst, I am in my second (and last, I am transferring before its too late) semester and still Kaplan has not received HALF of my loans for LAST semester!  I had to go through this dumb process of faxing a form to Kaplan stating that I wanted the refund of monies to come to me and they still haven't gotten to me.
PLEASE DO NOT attend this "school"!  They are being investigated by the FEDS, and even CNN has done stories on the "school" (within the last couple of weeks).  Kaplan has a facebook page too!  Please go on there and post your horror stories so that others may learn!  We need to stop these people before they scam any more people!  There are over 160 rip off complaints on this site about Kaplan (not including mine)!  We need to get together, contact any attorney, and stop them.  Don't know if my credits from here will transfer (doubt it), but at least I learned my lesson before I got in too deep!
