Kathleen Pennington Incredibles Edibles Crafty FRAUD/ SCAM Sherman Oaks, California

Kathleen Pennington was contracted to provide catering services for an indie film.  She was given a deposit check of $1000. 4 hours after she was contracted, the project postponed.  Kathleen Pennington was then contacted via email of the situation, and was instructed NOT to cash or deposit the check.  She was then called on her phone numerous times the following day to confirm.  She never responded.  

Three days later she replied to the email saying that it was too late.  She had just received the email.  She stated that she had already purchased the food, and although she didn't have possession of it, nor was the vendor pushing her to take delivery, she somehow was stuck with it, so we would be out of our money.  

This was all a lie.  When I called her on the phone the next day, she didn't recognize my cell number, so she answered.  Once I identified myself, she quickly hung up the phone and then refused to answer further calls.

She would only reply, infrequently at best, via email.  When addressed with this, she only looks for excuses to delay.  

I told her that I would not just 'forget' that she has taken our money. We have filed a small claims, and will have our day in court this coming June.
