I took my ring in for a loose princess cut diamond to be tightened on Aug 26,2012. The associates at Kays said lets fix the gold on the sides and I see if they will take out the princess cuts in with the baggettes and put the right ones in, which the princess cuts where from a previous repair that was covered under the warranty that was purchased at the time of buying the ring. We will have this back in a month and that will be Sept 26,2012, I didn't get it back til Oct 27, 2012.
I had made several calls to see what the progress was on my ring and was told we don't know. Then knowing I wanted to know about my ring they waited 5 days to call and tell me that the jeweler sent my ring back with missing diamonds at least 6 and the gold was so chewed up it looked like they put it in a vice and didn't protect. My feeling to this is they distroyed it so I would have to trade it in and buy another one. When I called the claims department they only offered me two options and one wasn't going to happen and that was to send my ring to the jeweler and they make me a custom ring with my diamonds or I can take a $350 gift certificate.
Sorry but that $350 doesn't cover the stress this has caused me to go through. They will not work with any suggestions I have, it's thier way or nothing. Plus when I went to pick up my ring the Man that we have never dealt with was so rude. He keep saying that he wasn't here when we brought the ring and so the damage that is on the ring he wasn't sure the jeweler did and I told him to talk to Pat that was in the store that night but he refused to do so. Then he was forcing us to sign the papers saying we were satisfied with the ring and I said I know my rights and I don't have to sign that, which I'm right on. Finally Pat did come over after about 2 hrs of going back and forth on the ring she told him to just give me the ring, we didn't sign the papers and we left.
All I want is my ring back the way I took it there and I don't want to trade it in. It has to much sentimental meaning to me, I guess I'm old fashion that way. I feel I should be compensated for my troubles and the damages of what they did to my ring. So far the estimates that I have for my ring is over $2000 in damages.
